Change is Near.

Change is coming is the highlight of this post, 2012 will see me taking ventures into a few mediums more prevelant than ever before. At the moment, I'm carried away with some work on the storyboards for Killer Heels, but I'm tight lipped on that subject and will not be saying anything more on that. I have been asked to direct music videos for two independent recording artists and I have agreed, but my focus is strictly on two comic book series for the Nemesis and on the short film Hardest to Survive. After I have done commissioned work, I'm going back to producing the animation trailer and on the short film. Jstaarz has sent me a script of his new film and I like this one, much better than The New Kid by far. All I can say on this new project of his is its about "writer's block", it may sound boring but how it is tackled artfully is fantastic.

See you on the next post,

Prelude to 2012.

This is not any update, but just a thank you to everyone who stuck by this blog for up to a year now. I am grateful and humbled by to many of you fans that were patient enough to stick by. Breaking into industries such as these is tough, but I can promise you that I am close with reaching that goal. I will still blog updates whenever they come up and I am not going to just leave the film project alone. If I will have to get just 1k or just a few £100 to get this show rolling, I will do it. Not that it has gone to do that, but if it goes on that road, so be it. It will be the best ever spent and make no mistake, the quality will be sound. As for the Nemesis comic, let's just say it's moving as I want it to. These may take time, but it will be worth the wait. Be prepared for a lot coming this year than ever before, particularly in Spring. I'll be blogging like crazy.

Have a happy new year,

2 New Films 1 Web Series.

Everyone, there are big things happening in 2012 apart from two epic comic book series on our bad ass, masked avenger of vengeance and 1 crime thriller short about misguided youth from the houses of Frontier Entertainment and Ezee Media. Next, is another short film to be produced by the company Frontier, with "Jstaarz" slated to direct, now currently in development. Then, a spy-drama series co-written, produced and directed by Matthew Ezee is to appear on Youtube. I am not sure how much episodes is being put up but so far 6 episodes have been written, cast is ongoing with locations observed and production looking to begin sometime in January 2012. A working title has been put up but is likely to change. Another short film, I can't talk too much about is called "Killer Heels". It is done by a separate company outside of this party and I've been chosen to do storyboards, I'll let you know of it soon.

Hardest to Survive Entered in Film Festival.

I would like to inform all of you that Hardest to Survive, my Short Film, was entered in a Film Festival for DocScreen event at the Art Against Knives Boxpark in Shoreditch on the 22nd December 2011, and was fit in there by a show holder. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend my own screening but I am confident that it all went well. The clip that was shown was an extended clip, this is an extra scene that is separate from the actual film, which would of provided viewers a bit of knowledge on what actually happens during a vital point in the 30 minute short somewhere during the middle of the plot. I directed this scene with myself in a cameo role, I shot this with other filmmakers from Ezee Media and Frontier Entertainment. The scene was posted on Youtube earlier this year and on Facebook. You can view it on my account, found on my contacts page. I am aiming for production sometime in February-March 2012.

Nemesis Billed for Web Series.

Hello people, I'm back after just finishing up some business. I want to let you know, that it's too early to say but the animation trailer for my online/social media and video platform maybe going for a potential animation web series. Cameron Austin and I are looking into it but depending on the success of my trailer and the comic book series, this is not set in stone, however, we could even be looking at a potential animated TV series. In the meantime, getting both Nemesis the Hunter's Mark and its prequel Nemesis Dawn of a Legend off the ground is my top priority. As you may know, the trailer goes with the package. For the cartoon, we'll just have to see how it goes. Someone came to me about this before, I would like to make one but there's a lot of things to consider like the right script and directors for the job and person who could bring it to life.

Back again soon,

Nemesis trailer date.

Welcome back everyone, I am here to inform you that my trailer for Nemesis the Hunter's Mark is slated for release in Spring 2012. I spoke to the leader of the animators a couple of days ago and she is looking to get an Emmy Award winning animator on board this project. If this goes on, then it's fantastic. Production should begin around March 2012 and by then hopefully issue 1 should be printed and ready for publishing. Kieron Boothe, the colourist, has too much at hand at the moment. Plus I'm currently due for my holiday in the United States, this is where I can now have the opportunity to break into the American comic book market in full swing. But we'll definitely see. T-shirts and Hoodie's will be taken care of when I come back.

See you all later,

The NemesisTV

What's going on? Like my little freestyle, well I'll be doing more in the new year. Back to Nemesis, storyboards are mostly finished, for the animation trailer. When I have done them character designs will be done by a new artist I am recruiting based on the artwork from Cameron Austin, Julio Falkenhagen and I. Plus I'm preparing everyone including myself in their roles. T-shirts are being designed as we speak and just want to let you know on a new channel that will be on Youtube soon. My website will be re-launched soon, the blog will stay relatively where it is for now. I am not going to announce the dates of when issue 1 of the comic will be released until everything is sorted out. Rommel Fabian should be back in the game soon and I am sorting out a meeting with Kieron too.

Lil Dre's Freestyle

Last week Saturday, I did a little freestyle for ECHO on Jstaarz's Channel. I did this as my stage name, Lil Dre, I'm not gonna spend too long ranting here but check the video out below. You might be interested. I will be hitting the studio soon after to record my next track for upcoming mix-tape Breakin' the Rules. Look out for it on my Youtube channel 89kbon on my links page. Ignore the words final ECHO on top, Jstaarz will be doing many more videos soon and I am set to direct some music videos next year.

Shoot Your Story Winner.

Remember the Shoot Your Story event I told you about quite some time ago for Lewisham Council in association with the Wake Up team? Well, two weeks ago, a ceremony was hosted at the Civic Suite for the runners up and prize winners. It was for participants to film a 2 minute film showing how people are doing something for the community and showcasing their directing skills. I would like to say in first place was Matthew Easy from Ezee Media who got a chance to get work experience in film production company and see many celebrities. I give him a round of applause for that. In second place was someone from a community center, I apologise for not remembering his name and I made it to third place. Both of us won prizes too and was really good. I thank everyone for inviting me there.

Interlude V.

Welcome back, fans. I hope you enjoyed The New Kid Pilot last week, there will be more from Jstaarz like that very soon. I have spoke to Kieron Boothe about the colours and it is going to be sorted out this week. Another thing as well is remember the T-shirts I promised, well I finally have somewhere I can get them. It will take awhile to sort out the ones for Hardest to Survive short film but I can do the ones for Nemesis the Hunter's Mark. Expect it to be done soon and not only that, Hoodie's will be done too. Winter is fast approaching and I'm sure many of you would like some clothing for this Christmas. I will announce the market place where you pick up the items sometime in December. Prices will be on my website, so look out for that. As for the anime trailer, I am set to visit the lead animator shortly where I am to present storyboards. Issues of the Nemesis the Hunter's Mark series will be scheduled bi-monthly.

The New Kid Pilot.

Finally, The New Kid Pilot is here. You can watch the show here on my page and on Youtube, the clip maybe on Spiff TV as well. I Andre Farquharson star as the new kid, replacing Sean Marquis, the person initially intended to star as the lead role. Jerry Zemi stars as Killerman/Kellerman and Ryan Driscoll stars as one of the bullies, Alex. Written, directed and produced by Jstaarz, the show is about a new kid who is new to the block, executive produced by myself. So what are you waiting for? Check out the clip and let's read what you think.

Its over for now but for how long?

Rule's Broken EP.

As I said before in my update video, I'm going to release two different discs of music. One is a mixtape called "Breakin' Da Rules" in 2012 and the other is an EP called "Rule's Broken". At the moment, I've recorded a few tracks for the mixtape and a couple for the EP. I've wrote tons for Breakin' Da Rules and just did another for "Rule's Broken". Of course the recordings have to be mastered and then mixed, which is an ongoing process at the moment. The music video for "She's a Piffy" on my mixtape has been shot, but needs to be edited.

The name up there is for the EP, but I want to talk a little bit about the mixtape. Its Hip Hop/Grime/Rap but has a little bit of Alternative tracks on there, its concept is mainly about a coming of age where I grew up and how I started to become rebellious as I grew older and mainly struggles. I can't tell you all of who will be on the mixtape, most are pretty unknown but one of them I mentioned is Blaze Barnation. I'll be working on a track with him soon. Just look out for my other track "My Sweetness" on my Youtube channel by a singer who is set to appear on X-Factor next year.

I'll be coming back to comic next week,

New Kid Pilot finished.

I am going to let you in on a brief rundown on The New Kid Pilot written and directed by Jstaarz. The 5 minute short has been shot yesterday and is almost wrapped up, there is a few details I will give out which are quite major spoilers. I no longer play Killerman/Kellerman character in the show but I play someone else. There has been a change in the casting but the story and concept is still quite sound. Sean Marquis, the actor who is initially supposed to play our title character is not in the episode but is still involved in Hardest to Survive. There is one more shot needed to be shot that includes the main character's introduction, but the majority of the show has been finished and is about to go through editing process. I'm not sure how long it will take but expect the Pilot to be on Spiff TV, Youtube and Facebook by this November.

Mother of Rising Legend Cast.

I want to confirm from recent updates that is coming from the new animation trailer, on the upcoming comic book series, Nemesis the Hunter's Mark, last time I told you casting has been finished and that the person to play Henry's mother has been cast. Well, today I want to let you know a little bit about our daring actress, Louisa Benjamin. She is a decent actress, warming and passionate. Though, before I get back to you about that I want to let you all know that the website http://www.nemesisthehunter.co.uk is going through some changes and more stuff will be added later on in the year.

Actor, presenter and performer, Louisa is a talented and versatile artist who consistently delivers high standards in all aspects of her work. Professionally trained and experienced Louisa has performed as an actor on stage and T.V. and more recently as a stand up comedian. Spontaneous and dynamic, Louisa has a personality that is outgoing and engaging, fun to work with yet committed and professional.

Aside from her creative abilities Louisa works and supports young homeless people to achieve their aspirations and to succeed within their own day to day lives.

There were many actresses billing for the role of Henry's mother but I chose Louisa because she had fit the kind of voice I was looking for. I wasn't looking for an accent as such but someone who could nail her character, who could bring Henry's light-hearted nature onto the surface. Even though this role is short, its the mother who influences his decision to become who he is destined to become in the future. I spoke with Louisa by phone call as I was not having much luck in finding the right person who could take on a minor role.

This woman has energy and vigor, and hope she does well in more shows.

Director's Cut: Hardest to Survive part 5.

Everyone, welcome back to my blog. I am here to discuss what is going on with the short film, Hardest to Survive. Well, I'm afraid the long awaiting film will have to take a back seat for a while longer as plans shall move forward to be released sometime next year in 2012. The reason is due to unforeseen technical difficulties which have delayed production this Autumn and pre-production not yet accomplished. Test shoots were supposed to be completed a while ago from this Summer but it was not possible, my plans are to complete them by the end of this year and start production from February to March 2012 for a Spring release. I have discussed my overall plans with the rest of the team from Ezee Media and they are in agreement to go ahead with this decision. I hosted a meeting last week with all the actors about this to sort out the problem and I am looking to share all of their comments around to tackle this situation.

Although, this is unfortunate, do not worry I am getting more assistance from other studios and investors willing to donate and finance this project. I seek to change people's minds about problems we face in the climate now such as distress, peer pressure and more stuff affecting young people today. The good news is Jstaarz's project The New Kid is ready to start filming this week so at least you have some kind of treat for many to look out for. Also, I got news from a friend of Rommel's who is lettering my comic book series and he has had trouble of his own which has slightly impacted my progress on Nemesis the Hunter's Mark. He experienced some technical glitches as well, I am getting in contact with him as soon as possible in order to get things in motion. However, the animated trailer based on this is going smoothly. I will come back with a small brief on who is playing Henry's mother.

I'll be right back,

The New Kid update.

I know it's been long, but The New Kid finally is up and running! Someone else is doing the lead role for the new kid and is replacing Sean Marquis. Scripts are ready and it's time to rehearse, shooting may take place next weekend in time for November. There is nothing more I can say on the project except that the newcomer and Jstaarz's decision was unexpected but exciting at the same time, this actor is an unknown of course. This week I am holding a meeting about my short film news on how that pans out will be on my 5th part of Hardest to Survive, Director's Cut. Casting has finished on the animation trailer for Nemesis the Hunter's Mark, storyboards have begun and I am due to have a meeting with one of the managers for the animators very soon.

Keep blogging,

As for who is going to publish it, that is top secret, I'm keeping all of that hush until I get things on the ball right and pitched in the court. Child Star to play Young Henry.

The animation trailer is under way, with another star on the way to the top. This time, its a child, his name is Ramy Souleman. He will be in Nemesis the Hunter's Mark anime trailer and will play a short cameo as the child version of Henry Jackson/The Nemesis alongside other versions of Courtney Starr and myself, Andre Farquharson. I will not spoil the trailer, but he will play a crucial role which is vital to his development of the avenger of punishment and revenge he will become in the future. The actress for the character's mother, Sarah Jackson, is almost in negotiations for her role and pre-production is almost done. I have sorted out animators and will be close to finding the whole of the production team. If things begin to move swiftly then production will start sometime in November or December 2011.

Everyone, I'm back with an update video of my progress in all of my projects. Those who saw my Shoot Your Story introduction video that was for Wake Up. Competition ended last week and the runners up receive praise while the winner gets special prizes. Aside from that, here is the video which details what is going on with Nemesis the Hunter's Mark issue 1 and the animation trailer, Hardest to Survive short film, Breakin' the Rules mix-tape and The New Kid Pilot. All of the information that you need to know is on this video. Before I finish off, check out the man behind Kbon Reviews who has just finished a review for Rise of the Planet of the Apes. He switched back to music and is taking on Blaze Barnation's mix-tape, Barnation World. I'm coming back with the interview with Jordan O'Connor and more details on the upcoming October 2011 Comic-Con.

Introduction video.

This is the introduction video as promised, its a competition I had to be involved with for an organization called Wake Up as part of Shoot Your Story for Lewisham. Participants had to shoot a video around 2 minutes long detailing a story of what you are all about and how you wish to help the community. I shot the update video, which I am going to post up here next week. Unfortunately, I was not able to interview Jordan O'Connor yet, but I am staging another session where I can do that. I will be coming back for more sweepstakes later on this month.

Birmingham Comic Con: 2011.

Everyone, just so you know I just reached Birmingham last night and I'm heading over to the comic-con today in the morning. The update will be coming most likely this week and I'm getting prepared for my last year of six form next week. It's been a tough year, I'm sill waiting for all of my results to come through and so far it's looking good. I will try ad upload the update as soon as I can and I'm working on the interview with Jordan O'Connor plus the introduction video will come through. I will be meeting the likes of Dave Gibbons and Doug Braithwaite at the event. Here are pictures taken of where the location in Birmingham was around the location and during the event around it. Sadly, Mark Millar couldn't turn up at the event due to unforeseen health problems and I wanted to get one of my "The Ultimate's" books and "Wanted" signed.

Father Figure Of Next Gen Super-Hero.

The newest addition to the cast for the short animation has been chosen, Portuguese born actor and presenter, his name is Rony Romero and he now currently lives between London and his hometown. Drama experiences come from working on TV and several agencies, having previously worked in Rede Record and Record International. He is set to voice Henry's wise uncle, Phillip "Phil" Jackson who has an idea on the dark curse the protagonist inhabits within. Two more cast members left to go through auditions. I am searching for an actress to have a small cameo as Henry's late mother, Sarah Epps Jackson and plus someone to play the child version of the leading role. They should be up there soon, as for the actor to voice him as a teenager well if you are a Facebook user and have joined the cause, you would have known who is playing him yesterday. I will voice the adolescent version of the main character.

I realize some of you out there are quite anxious or interested to see the next chapter that is a follow up to the prequel, Nemesis Dawn of a Legend, which have been posted on this blog. Well the hold up on Nemesis the Hunter's Mark is Rommel Fabian who is busy on two other comic book projects but he is coming back to finish the last few pages. I have finished all the colour notes and it is ready to be sent to Kieron Boothe. It won't be long before Fabian is done then I can send both the lettered pages and notes to Kieron to wash over in technicolor. We are still in talks about whether the series will be monthly or bi-monthly so I'll keep you updated on the video I plan to do this week or next after the interview with Jordan O'Connor.

Next is the interview and then updates,

Interlude IV.

A lot of things have been taking place in the past week, those of you who are from the UK know what I'm talking about. This is the riots that have shaken not only the majority of London but Manchester, Birmingham, Coventry and Bristol. The riots had really messed up the schedule and unfortunately I had to cancel the Summer Arts Event this Friday. Do not worry though, when I get the opportunity, I will host another Q&A but it would most likely be during the Autumn. In spite of this, I have reports that Jordan O'Connor, the animator, agreed to get involved with an interview with Ezee Media and LD Studios. This along with an update video on the projects I am busy on plus an introduction video are coming online on my Youtube channel. On my next post, I will reveal who is the actor who is going to lend his voice to Henry Jackson's character in his teenage years in Nemesis the Hunter's Mark animation trailer.

Summer Arts Event: The Nemesis session.

I'm just going to do a quick blog post, I just had a Q&A session for Nemesis the Hunter's Mark#1 at Summer Arts in The Albany and it has been going on well. There maybe another Q&A sometime next week but look out for the Summer Disco next week at The Albany, Douglas Way, London SE8 4AG. As for me, I'm getting ready for comic-con 2011 that will take place in Birmingham. I will maybe heading over to a comic con at the Expo in October 2011 as well. At the Expo I may showcase a new online comic series in the works that I will reveal in the later months. Enjoy the rest of this summer and I am working on another update on the projects very soon.

Update on The New Kid

It has been a struggle to get this project off the ground, but it seems the luck has suddenly begun to change. I can't give you any detail on what is about to rise, however, I can say things are picking where last it left off. I am in the process of getting hold of an actor to not only replace the last person from Hardest to Survive to play Nate but I am also seeing if I could get him a part on this project as well. He does not have a hold of the script for The New Kid yet but he does have a hold of one for my short film. It is too early to determine whether the person I have in mind will be involved in this project but so far he did agree to be in Hardest to Survive. I need to return calls on that one but rest assured, it will take quite a while to get The New Kid on the roll. I will let you know the developments later in another Youtube video but next week I am posting up a video on what I am doing and who I am. I will also try and sneak in an interview slated with Jordan O'Connor from Ezee Media if he is available. Will be in touch very soon.

Speak to you all then

Nemesis teaser trailer.

Everyone taking a good holiday this summer? Well, I have not got time for that this year, but I am taking breaks whenever I get the chance. Printing for issue 1 of Nemesis the Hunter's Mark has been sorted and my production team is about to make the order. I am trying my best to get colour notes done. Kieron Boothe is back to work, once I have sent him the notes colour will be washed over and should expect a release date very soon. It is definitely going to be released over in the summer, for now, here is the sneak peek of cover art of issue 2 done by Dean Richards and the synopsis of that particular issue is below. Amazing, right? There should be a little bit of insight over this creative process planned when you pick issue 1.

Nemesis the Hunter's Mark#2

Part two of seven: Freedom short-lived.

“COVER ART by DEAN RICHARDS, SCRIPT, LAYOUTS & INKS by ANDRE FARQUHARSON, PENCILS by JULIO FALKENHAGEN, COLOURS by JUANMAR STUDIOS AND LETTERS by ROMMEL FABIAN NEMESIS THE HUNTER’S MARK © written and created by ANDRE FARQUHARSON. Charged with a crime he did not commit, Henry goes on the run, having spoken with his uncle about his inheritance along with an ancient curse which inhabited the family, and discovering his father was a mobster who had abused his power for personal gain. He is approached by a man behind shadows after being strung up in a Brazilian jail who offers to drop charges in return for favours he cannot resist. Having returned to the United States, Henry investigates how he came to be, meanwhile a shadowy organization and covert agency is fast on his tracks.”

In regards to my anime trailer, I am casting someone a child actor to play the 9 years old version of the titular character, Henry Jackson/The Nemesis. I am in need of an teenage one as well alongside Courtney Starr who is playing the 24/25-year old protagonist. I have not filmed the interview with one of the animators who is attached to this project, Jordan O'Connor, but you can click on the link address below.

Baring in mind he is a 3D animator, these are works he has done and it does not necessarily mean he will go and then adapt his skills which should affect my vision. My animation will blend 2D hand drawn animation with computer programmes to create American-Japanese influenced anime. A theme song will be produced by UK Hip Hop band "Triple Darkness" member J Tha Exodus and will be performed by British Hip Hop artist "4 Real". For those who are not aware of his music, his video is below. Anyone interested in his channel ask and I will send you a link to his channel but I have to ask him permission.

Trailer aside for now, I have found a possible candidate to replace Richard O'keffe in the role of Nate in the upcoming Hardest to Survive film. I will get back on that later, next week I will post another blog on how my 2011 mix-tape Breakin' Da Rules is coming along and have an update on how my projects is going on a You Tube video.

Later on bloggers,

Cast is almost set...

I have been quite busy last week, I been to the London Film and Comic Con in Earl's Court and saw the star of Prison Break as "T-Bag" and Heroes "Samuel Sullivan" Robert Knepper. Asking him about what things has been like since he left Season 4 of Heroes, he replied "Always working and it has been a lot fun". I met up with artists such as Lee Townsend and he among others gave me a lot of good advice about breaking into the comic book industry.

There is a charity I will take part in for the Red Cross for those who were unfortunate victims of the Tsunami in Japan and the Netherlands. It will be a web comic about an unlikely British model from West London who turns out to be a heroine. No further details will be going into the book just yet except that it is currently being written. Also, expect me to be part of the Birmingham Comic Con in this October 2011. This has been my first time in a convention and it was great but I won't lie, it was overwhelming at first. Especially with so many fans in costumes.

Now on with the main project, Nemesis the Hunter's Mark, spoke to Rommel Fabian and he is finishing off the last half of issue 1 in lettering, Dean Richards has just sent me cover art for issue 2 and I'm trying to finish my share of colour notes. I should be meeting Kieron Boothe about doing some colour. The cast for the animation trailer is almost done, with the actor to play Uncle Phil being searched for around the globe. I am in the middle of polishing a script from my editor for the cartoon and I am finding some more animators for the job to pull this one off. There are meetings to discuss but arrangements will be met.

I'm coming back with an interview of one of the animators, his name is Jordan O'Connor and the synopsis for issue 2.

Actress playing Maria revealed!!!

I'm back everyone, here to present another news reel on the animation trailer. The actress who is playing Maria Francisco; ex-girlfriend of Henry Jackson is Alana Maria, she really captured what I needed of her character's personality. A young woman whose independent, passionate and not afraid to get dirty when she needs to. Alana, from Detroit, is a great addition to the cast and when I discussed the role with her in less than a month ago I loved her energy and playfulness in our conversation. I got in touch with just a meeting and phone call then all of a sudden, Alana was brought right to me through an exchange of number then I was talking with her via long distances across the Atlantic.

She owned the Puerto Rican/New York accent in it's entirety or "Spanglish", all I asked was for her to record her voice into a device and send it over to me via e-mail. In my audition, I was thinking more of her approach to be Dania Ramirez (Illegal Tender, X-Men: The Last Stand, Heroes) but she thought Rosie Perez and Jennifer Lopez as ideal influences, I said "More Rosie Perez less J-Lo" and she was off. Alana sent me three variations of her vocals and I went through them and it was great, it sold well.

My editor is reformatting the fourth draft of the script from Cameron Austin and myself, from my conversation with her last Wednesday it sounds great and is what I think is the one. I can't wait to see it, once I see this its down to work. I'm going to take what I can get from it then its down to storyboards and the recording booth. Production should kick in within a few months, I have been told about a young animator who has done work for companies in the UK. I have looked at his work and it shows promise, I will probably try and get an interview with him for Ezee Media. Look out for the teaser trailer very soon, it's coming your way. I will see if I can get into contact with Patrick McDonough as well, but he's very busy.

Have a good summer,

Breakin' Da Rules (2011) Mix-tape

With the comic book series in production and the short animation micro-series of Nemesis the Hunter's Mark in development, it seems everything is flowing nicely. Spoke to a writer/business advisor last Thursday and she told me about managing your time and not feel overloaded, which is true. The problem is if I feel I'm not doing anything, I get bored and get lazy. Hardest to Survive has been met with hiccups but not as bad as The New Kid. I'm doing my best to get Jstaarz's project off the ground and I think I've found the right actor who is not a waste of time and money who may pull it off. As executive producer of this project, I can only do what I can. I got a person to speak to about today. The man behind Seventh Wonder Films, watch out for the feature film Blake starring Courtney Starr. I got a treat for you coming up this week.

The good news is college is almost over and I have handed in the majority of my work and did exams. So, it means more drinks for me :) and I get more free time. I'm also investing in two new cameras, Canon's, and try get my hands on a Sony Z1 or HD1. The film will start I think Principal Photography 3 days after the Captain America film is in cinemas. Okay, that aside, remember that tune I told you about on my graff status. Well Lil Dre is here to say that Ezee and Jstaarz shot a music video on the weekend and I got 2 scenes to do this week. A mix-tape Breakin' Da Rules will be coming out later on this year or probably early next year 2012!!! The official music video is in production and should enter post-production by the end of July. I got a flock of artists' in the underground I'm working with on this mix-tape.

Nemesis issue 1: the letters.

Hey fans, I'm just gonna let you into a little update. Rommel Fabian has almost finished the pages of his letters and colour is not far away. Here is a sample of the pages below. Tell me what you think and let me know if you are looking forward to the comic, as I said, for those who don't know about the group page on Facebook just type it on there word for word right there and remember to check out my twitter page. Nemesis the Hunter's Mark, everyone and a Page is there also. I thank Kbon Reviews for his support on my progress for issue 1, we're making it happen and for those who followed my news and updates closely would know that I am very close to naming the person that will be doing the voices for Maria Francisco and Uncle Phil. Production will soon be underway and the cast is almost finalised. Also the new Youtube channel will be coming to a computer screen near you. So, keep your eyes peeled for that one and read for the actor and actress by the end of the month who are set to voice my characters' soon.

Nemesis the Hunter's Mark#1

Part one of seven: The Fallen.

“Henry Jackson is haunted by nightmares and strange imaginings which pinpoint his deceased parent’s situation the night they were killed in a fire in episodic flashbacks. Seven years earlier, he moved to Queens, New York with Uncle Phil and dated Maria Francisco whilst at Fordham University where he befriended Raphael Hagen and Ryan Mitchell, a rivalry developed between Jackson and Mitchell as Ryan fell in love with Maria, so much that he ends up doing one action that eventually causes a feud. Henry maybe forced to abandon his girlfriend and his life will never be the same again”

Looking good, expect the issue to be finished by the end of the month. I am expected to be handed more letters soon enough and pretty busy with a lot I am having another meeting with Courtney Starr and we are in talks of producing a possible micro-series for the animation but that is all in due time. Nemesis Dawn of a Legend may come back later on in the months after it has finished and I am thinking of splitting the prequel into just two parts. For those of you who do not know what it is, this is before the Nemesis the Hunter's Mark series and look at my older posts for scripts which started from May 2010 to January 2011. SPOILER WARNING! The first part will deal with Henry Jackson when he escapes from solitary and leaves Brazil to discover his origins behind his inheritance as he travels back to the United States only to face a voracious secret organization that want him for their own gain. The second part would deal with the aftermath and the consequences of his decisions in his first encounter with the mastermind behind his troubles and what lies ahead for him in a predestined future.

I will reveal the promotional poster next week and the second issue cover with another synopsis. Look out for my first issue this Summer 2011 people, Nemesis the Hunter will rock your world this year. Later, everyone more updates coming soon.

Director's Cut: Hardest to Survive part 4.

Welcome back everyone, as you read this post it would probably be dated before its time but I am reporting updated news from 04/06/11. Yesterday, I spoke with Michelle from a workshop and I have been told about applying for something. I should be on my way to starting the whole film very soon, just got to make a few calls. Principal photography should begin July, I am going to make a couple more test shoots in the next two weeks from now. Check out Hardest to Survive on the Facebook for more information on Pages. I will send pictures of stills from behind the scenes. I have begun to start a Production Schedule and I plan to film the whole 30 minutes in late July. I am still making a lot of preparations before I do that shoot and it should be up and running pretty soon.

Dr. Who Extra to star as Doctor.

Back again after being so busy, I got news on the animation trailer for the upcoming 7 issue miniseries Nemesis the Hunter's Mark. Patrick McDonough, who appeared in various roles in Doctor Who and minor roles in Tracy Beaker and Skins will be lending his voice to an actual scientist character in the 3 minute anime trailer. He will portray Dr. Spencer Montauk, at the moment, he is really busy doing a shoot in Cardiff in Doctor Who and could not make it to a script reading I plan to host with Courtney Starr at the end of this month but he agreed to participate. My editor, Genevieve, is doing the final draft from Cameron and I. Issue 1 is almost complete and ready for submission, Kieron Boothe is taking a day off for a week but I'm scheduled for a meeting with him the following week after next about lighting and colour from my notes. At the same time, I will have another meeting this Friday to discuss where I am now. Follow me on Twitter, my page is on the links section and look out for any new updates on Facebook Groups and Pages. I plan to start back on shooting Hardest to Survive very soon. The New Kid Pilot has been postponed for now, but I am trying to get hold of a different actor to star as the lead.

Keep track on my Youtube videos as well,

What's Happening Now?

Hope you liked the music, in my post last week on Youtube. I'm hoping to get the music video done soon. My exams have officially finished and all I have got at the moment is course work. I will be having another meeting sometime next week about certain papers I have to fill and other libel that I may need to be aware of. I have nearly finished colour notes that I intend to send to Kieron for colour and Rommel has nearly finished the pages and should be done by tomorrow or maybe on the weekend. When I receive the pages, I will post them on Facebook and Deviant Art. So far, I have sent Julio my script and layouts for issue 2 and he should be getting on with that soon. The search for animators for my trailer is in progress, I'm having a script reading by the end of May with two actors. The auditions for Maria Francisco and Uncle Phil Jackson are still going on plus the script is being worked on by my editor.

For Hardest to Survive, I plan to do test shoots during the bank holidays, I have to inform the Director of Photography and Film Editor soon. After this, shooting of the whole film will take place most likely in July-August. I'm not sure what is going on with The New Kid, Jstaarz, the director is trying to make agreements with the actor for the main role but I'm helping out with that. He may not be able to assist with my short film as he is busy sorting out his own projects. I will be sorting out the test shoots as well.

"She's a Piffy" Lil Dre Clip

By now you must be thinking on my profile, "Screenwriter, okay, Illustrator; well he does the Art, hmmm... acting well he did a couple videos. Director, well he's doing a short film, but Rapper how did he make that?" I started out rapping since 13 but I didn't take a serious take on it till years later. Since, you're waiting patiently for the comic and the film, I decided to give you a treat. Here, I have a clip of one of my tracks "She's a Piffy". I produced the instrumental and performed on it as my stage name Lil Dre. This is a Hip Hop/Rap/Grime song I written and the music video will be coming soon, I am not sure who will be directing the video but hopefully I should be able to do that next week. I got a Model named Jasmine who is doing the routines and I'm getting hold of dancers. Because I'm busy with two projects, I plan on releasing a mixtape later on this year or in the next just check out my Youtube videos for news. In the meantime, just enjoy the video.

Here is the clip and the link below,

Interlude III.

With exams near and course work in the way, I did not have time to even bat an eye lid. I've been so busy, I could only make one post this week. Production on The New Kid has been delayed but is still in the works, I spoke with the director, Jstaarz and he is real adamant with pulling this one through. I respect that and its only with perseverance that gets you anywhere in this world. It was supposed to have started at least a couple weeks ago, but there has been a few minor setbacks that does not effect it too much. Most of it centres on the actor playing show's protagonist. Hopefully, it will go fine from here on out. Expect shooting to take place after May.

For Nemesis, I am now in search of animators for the special trailer in time for my first issue's release, the final draft of the script is being written by my editor, I have found 6 potential actresses to voice the character's love interest, Maria, I am still on the look out for a talented, experienced and great voice actor to portray Henry's stern, patient, abrasive uncle. At the moment, I'm trying to make all preparations for the print and sending colour notes to deliver to Kieron sometime next week. Still no word on who is publishing the whole comic book series but expect some agreements being made by the end of this month or later. Dean has almost finished the cover art for issue 2 and Julio is bound to start pencils on that very soon.

I am having a meeting with Director, Enrico Tessarin, to catch up with stuff going on for my upcoming short film, Hardest to Survive. I plan two more test shoots after the 18th this month as I have exams on that date and coursework to hand in. After this, the real filming starts but I will organize a Production Schedule. By then, a Producer should be able to enter the door and sort out a few contracts. What can you do to support both projects? Simple, visit Facebook or Twitter and follow the cause. My twitter page is www.twitter.com/lildre_cains and just type Nemesis the Hunter's Mark for Facebook pages and if you are interested press 'like' on the page. Same with Hardest to Survive, you can also follow me on both twitter and this blog.

Future Adventures for Nemesis?!

Hope you enjoyed your holidays, people. I've just gone back to college and I got exams in about three weeks time, tiring. This won't really effect the schedule, but the release date for the first issue I will not put out until I have full confirmation. The New Kid has unfortunately been met with delays, but should start hopefully by May. I plan to shoot the next two clips for Hardest to Survive in about a week after my exam date but plans are being made for the full shooting of the 30 minute thriller. The departing of Richard O'keefe - the actor in for one of the leads - has greatly affected production but has been covered with a replacement. I will not tell you who is going to play Nate - one of five members of the cast - until after I release Nemesis the Hunter's Mark#1.

Aside from this, Rommel Fabian is replacing Julio Falkenhagen in pencilling duties in Nemesis Dawn of a Legend in the latter part of 2011. Joining him will be the letterer, Shawn Milazzo with the story, layouts and inks done by me as usual. I am not sure who is going to do the colours but it is very likely to be an unknown. I will reveal which company is publishing the comic book when issue 1 of the current series is printed. To be honest, I don't like to hype about sequels. I plan ahead but I say if you do not get the original right, why commit to another one after it. Take all the Spider-Man movies for example, they were real great right. Be honest, now tell me if you agree? But the first two were damn good Spider-Man 2 was even better. When it came to 3, it was huh?! Now they're doing a fourth but its a reboot The Amazing Spider-Man.

Now, I'm not saying 3 wasn't good but it overcomplicated things. I won't even start, but I want to say that I plan on maybe doing probably a web-comic series and features a British superhero. I will not say it yet until I'm sure.

Animation to go production.

With the third draft of the anime trailer for Nemesis the Hunter's Mark handed in to my partner, it's not long before we have a clearly envisioned script. I am about to organize a reading with Courtney Starr, the voice of Henry Jackson, and with another actor negotiating with him to play the role of a helper of sorts. This actor I have talked about has made a cameo in Doctor Who, Skins, Tracey Beaker and acted in Theatre Royal Romeo and Juliet. I am searching for an actress who can play the love interest of Henry and his ex-girlfriend, Maria Francisco.

For those who have read Nemesis Dawn of a Legend, you last saw Henry rejecting his father's legacy and moving forward after his first battle with his enemy in the prequel. What you can expect in this one is he will go through a gradual transformation into his own image as he deals with his mental instability, relationships, conspiracies, arch-rivals, a dark past and within himself. Henry must look for reassurance in his self on his journey while stuck in between a deadly transfer of power between two factions and remember who he really is. Here is a brief synopsis for the whole series coming this Spring 2011 (no spoilers) from the Facebook page.

Nemesis the Hunter's Mark

Synopsis:

On the streets of NYC two factions wage war in an ominous power struggle spanned for centuries. Molecular biologist, Henry Jackson gets back with Maria Francisco after their last reunion went in shambles. Years have passed and the couple separate while Henry traces his long forgotten past and searches through the inheritance his deceased parents left in their wake. But the fortune which provided his career wasn’t the only possession that remained. When Henry discovers illegal documents on a revolutionary formula his life changes the minute he gets recruited into the TEI (Tactical Enforcement Initiative) – NSA branch – an agency that kept tabs on him throughout his life. That’s not all an alternate personality takes control of him. Some spirit that inhabited his family, and granted him power through modification of the genes, as a secret organization wants the scientist for their own devices. Being our last hope against masses of destruction Henry must become in modern legends The Shadow Man and make a choice – whether to give up this curse or use it to fight his demons and protect his love that is his very soul from servitude – the only thing keeping him together as – Nemesis the Hunter.

And there you have it, all of what you can expect for the first issue and afterwards. Sometime next month, I should have teaser posters for the comic book, a summary of issue 2 and post a video clip of the process. As for my other project, Hardest to Survive, I have just spoken to a director friend of mine and discussed about possibly hosting a festival. Next week, details of the Pilot for The New Kid. I tweeted there will be an actor from my short film who is going to make cameo in this Pilot. I handed him the script this week and is speaking with Jstaarz about his role. More on that and where it is going plus the actor to replace Richard O'keeffe. Also, Kbon Reviews will be going to review a film ending in 5 and a TV series.

Enjoy the weekend,

New Kid on the Block.

Shooting of the first episode Pilot is about to begin on The New Kid, directed with a story by Jstaarz for Frontier Entertainment and executive produced by me. I am excited to be a part of this project and wish him luck in creating a pamphlet of a down to earth teenage and young adult drama. It's something I wanted to do ever since I left Pulp Theatre. I play a supporting character called Kellerman/Killerman, I went on to revise some of the scenes, but the director said it was not really necessary and kept it simple. The scene I am doing that I re-written in draft 2, is where you see me for the first time and of course our protagonist of the Pilot. I wanted to give more tension between my character plus the main character in their interactions, so it provided leeway for this guy that I play to be perhaps untrustworthy but it was dropped and can only do what the director says and can't really intrude on someone else's work. Sometimes your own flip side on things doesn't work, even though you believe your ideas are sound. Of course, I know what I would do but its not the vision a director may relieve so you have to lay low.

Well, that's it for today, I will reveal the actor who is playing The New Kid some other time and by then I should have stills of the Pilot and maybe an interview with the man himself. Stay tuned for more details about the show. By the end of this week, I have another post coming soon that I am talking about the process of upcoming comic book miniseries Nemesis the Hunter's Mark and maybe post up a teaser poster, synopsis for issue 2, a press release of interview, a little more thorough details of the small transition from Nemesis Dawn of a Legend and this new series and many more information. At the moment, I am pretty occupied with my other project with my own short film and got a meeting arranged to discuss the production of Hardest to Survive. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of Easter and the hot weather. Kbon Reviews has been on lock down for awhile but he will review the latest films and music very soon.

Actor to leave Survive short

Got a update for Hardest to Survive, had a meeting that day and the film is definitely going on track. The comic book miniseries is soaring into print as fast as you could fly a plane. However, unlike the publishing of the comic, the filmmaking process is a challenge. While minor or major things can go wrong during the idea, concept, writing, penciling and even the inking phases of a comic book/graphic novel which can easily be corrected (not including the inks) before it reaches onto the final stages that lead to printing and distribution on the shelves; anything can go wrong during production of a film from continuity to budgeting.

Well, unfortunately, actor Richard O'keefe, who was going to portray the character of Nate, decided to exit the short film of my crime thriller due to conflictions with his schedule. Both of us are truly sad that he had to leave and he wanted to continue being a part of this process, but obviously he's not able to be a part of it. I wish him good luck in whatever path he takes and goes far in the future. He was a good addition to the film crew and cast. Nate is one of the main characters in the film. Not to worry though, I've got a replacement to fill in the character of Nate.

I will reveal the actor who is playing Nate shortly after The New Kid is done, he will be in that Pilot episode of that project directed by Jstaarz. See if you could spot the person who is playing Nate. The script is being tailored for a shooting this weekend and one actor from my short film will be appearing in that episode. Watch out for The New Kid on Frontier, Youtube, Twitter and talks are being made for this to go on SBTV. Test shoots of Hardest to Survive hopefully should wrap up by the end of April or in the middle of May 2011 with a full week of shooting happening thereafter. My next post will be about The New Kid released this Easter.

Monday 11 April 2011

New Logo and More News.

Like the new look, why have I changed it you ask? Well I wanted something that is a little bit more distinctive from the older version and is what has been shown on the cover of the first issue but without the dark motif and is orange. Don't worry, the orange eye is no reality TV concept its just a representation of the mascot's power, so no Big Brother here. I'll leave questions about lettering to Blambot, anyway, I have an improtant update to make. Since the site is being run, more multimedia will be underway within a couple months by the LD Studios Team and I am about to edit a video for something else. It may be shown on the website as an example of our services. Anyway, the news is I am in talks with showing some preview pages of issue 1 of the comic will be shown on Wake Up magazine. For those who have not seen the pencilled and inked version of those page search for Nemesis the Hunter's Mark on Facebook Pages and they should be there. Lettered pages should be on there soon.

Be cool everyone,

The Nemesis about to go print.

At last, Julio Falkenhagen, co-artist and designer, has sent me the rest of his drawn pages for Nemesis the Hunter's Mark issue 1 "The Fallen". I'm about to go through it with inks and the letterer, Rommel Fabian has sent me some pages lettered. Both are very talented at what they do and I'm glad we've almost got the book ready for print, you can see the inked and lettered pages down here below. I will unveil a picture of the next issue cover for number 2 very soon but for now just know that issue 1 is coming along fine. I am going to start the next draft for the animation trailer very soon, and I have begun to sort out a studio where I can record the actors voices. Expect issue 1 to go under print very soon, I am meeting to discuss the sample of the comic going into a magazine plus the press release of my interview should be coming soon.

The New Kid update and more!!!!

It's now the 5th April people, and it's nearly half term, yes!!! Now I got an update for you, first I just handed the revised script of the pilot for The New Kid. For those of you who don't know what this is, check my last post. Its a new web series coming from the F-ENT team and it stars a couple talented youth about a newbie who enters a new block. Jstaarz, the creator, will direct and this will be executive produced by myself and I will star in it. Shooting may start ASAP during the Easter holidays and should then be uploaded on the Myspace page here is the link for it http://myspace.com/frontierent, on my Youtube account, the link for it is here http://www.youtube.com/user/89kbon my new site http://www.nemesisthehunter.co.uk/ and on this blog. Photograph stills of behind the scenes maybe on this blog also. Check Frontier Entertainment on Facebook.

Another thing is with Hardest to Survive, I am speaking to all of the actors involved with that and I will not start Principal Photography until all testing shoots are done. I have got back my Photoshop again, I should be able to post more artwork from the comic book prequel last year, Nemesis Dawn of a Legend but not as yet. I will try and find time in order to do that, but I have just been handed more pencils from Julio, the co-artist and designer, so I got more inking for issue 1 of Nemesis the Hunter's Mark. Lettering from Rommel will be handed to me this week and hopefully I can get the inking done in time before Easter break so that I can hand in all of the inks and letters for Kieron to colour. More services will be added on the new site soon, so make sure you check them out for apps or stuff like that.

See yah later,

Plans for the Future.

It's been 4 months since I revealed the upcoming comic series, Nemesis the Hunter's Mark, is being released this year. Now that you wait for that prolonged satisfaction, I'm here to reveal to you the future of my franchise and this blog site. T-Shirts have been considered since the early part of last year in the summer but is still being looked upon, of course, the e-book which is the prequel to this series is coming in the later months as well. The animation trailer is being opted for production with an unknown who goes by Courtney Starr in the lead. Story development is being discussed for this promotion and more actors should be underway plus the 3rd draft is going to be written, it sure is going to keep me busy in some of the Easter holidays coming up and my editor will pen another, new, final draft after my writing partner's revisions. If you have not seen it yet, my site is now up http://www.nemesisthehunter.co.uk/. This is where all will be able to buy the comics when it comes out.

LD Studios is beginning to establish itself on the media scene, I am partnering with the best people behind Frontier Ent. and Ezee Media to secure ventures into more different multimedia. Simultaneous with the production of Nemesis the Hunter's Mark and development of the other two projects, I have tweeted a new pilot Frontier is developing called The New Kid. Its a down to earth short written and directed by Jstaarz, about some newbie on the block getting bullied. I am co-writing, producing and starring in the pilot and the pilot will be at least 5 minutes long. What I can say about the script so far is that its something I always wanted to be a part of from the moment Jstaarz told me about it, I've read it and was good. I really like my character and he's someone I can relate to, his name is Kellerman/Killerman and he is odd, mysterious, but cool. Script needs a little tweaks here and there but we will be able to work it out and I am supporting this project all the way. Shooting begins in about two weeks, so druing Easter.

I will speak more about the future plans and more about The New Kid in my next post and will come up with a new video diary on Hardest to Survive next week.

Bye, fans
