Any Hope For MI5: Section K?

Welcome back, fans to a new update in store. With my comic, Nemesis the Hunter's Mark#1 catching up, my short films; Hardest to Survive, temporarily postponed, The Hood; so far in early development and my performance of my song at the Breakout Club night coming near I have an update for one of the filmmaker's projects on the team coming. Ezee's spy-drama, currently on the working title of MI5: Section K has gone through a lot of challenges which is mainly creative hindrances. Draft after draft of the script have been written and I believe we may have found a solid ground on the project. It should be entering auditions at some point, likely in early Spring and we just have to wait and see. The Pilot will be directed by Matt Ezee and executive produced by myself.

The Flyer will arrive soon,

What Is The Climate Of Cartoons Today?

Evening fans, I thought I would change the subject a little and delve more into animation but I would like to discuss about the quality of cartoons in the modern day. As you know, there are many different forms of animation; 2D hand drawn animation, stop-motion, cardboard cut-out and 3D computer graphics. The majority of animation studios today use 3D animation or use a combination of those. Although the animators can use many of these techniques, there are many aspects needed to complete this creative process.

I really enjoy cartoons and still do, they are part of the escapism if you are not watching live-action shows on TV, surfing on the Internet, listening to music and playing video games. What I have noticed is a significant decline in the quality of cartoons since the late 2000's and early 2010's. Remember shows like Ren & Stimpy, Ed, Edd & Eddie, Hey Arnold, Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Flintstones or Dragon Ball Z? Well long gone are these shows and here come pointless shows on TV like so called reality TV such as Keeping Up With The Kardashian's, horrible game shows; Strictly Come Dancing, The Cube and others. Enough ranting, the point is I am not putting the blame on these kinds of shows, in fact some of them like Deal or No Deal and other UK and US shows are good. The point I am trying to make are there are rubbish programming and stupid decisions made by producers, studio execs and executive directors.

Below are the problems found in cartoons today in the 2010s, most animations do not last more than 2 seasons or even 1 season. The same can be said by some live-action, reality TV and game shows. In fact, the only type of show which really last in programming in the U.K. are cooking, finance, stock and shares, marketing, shopping, family affairs, talent shows, gardening, antiques and documentaries. Some of these type of shows can even be said for U.S programming except they spend more on reality TV, games, family affairs and talent shows like X-Factor, American Idol and both America and Britain's Got Talent.

The issues are labelled under these aspects below, such as characters, story-lines, expense and seasons:

Characters

The problem with the majority of cartoons on TV today is some new characters they put out are mainly 2 dimensional. I am not against new ideas, concepts, settings, characters and even animation style but these characters most of the writers, directors, illustrators and animators create have no emotion and do not stand out much in the way of personality. They are cheap fads of a lazy creator's manifestation.

Particularly in 3D animation, now I'm not saying I am against this style of animation but some of these 3D graphics only work for certain types of animation. They invoke these visual effects because for this kind of style it saves time although it takes long to render if you are talking about more realistic, action-orientated, cartoons. The downsides is for comedic pieces, there's more escapism and some of the characters look goofy, but they remain ugly in some cartoons in terms of appearance.

The look, feel and drive of the characters of course depends on the software the animators are working under. I prefer 2D hand drawn, cut out, flash and 2D/3D hybrid animation that use cel-shading and other applications of technology to make the cartoons look more hand-drawn when actually they have CGI (computer generated imagery), animation directors may use motion capture for voice actors and green screen as well as CGI to achieve the desired result. My point is sometimes the characters have no meat to them.

Story-lines

Another thing, I will not go in too much depth in, but it is plainly obvious, is that the plot for each episode and story arc is weak and flat. There is either no originality (that word should be taken lightly) I will get back to that point in a sec; horrible gags, flat dialogue e.g.one-liners with a bad attempt of shock factor, no structure, characters we could care less about or guess stars who come in for pointless crossovers and otherwise generally very bad writing in part to the scriptwriter(s).

If its comedy, the result is that the punchlines run out and become dry and become extremely boring fast. One example is Family Guy, that show is great but the annoying thing about the show is the writer always rely on references from pop culture or jump cuts to an otherwise random event as punchlines which can sometimes lead to unscrupulous and often retarded shortcomings in the humour. Whereas in some action, children shows, teenage drama, adventure, mystery, sci-fi and fantasy there are bad antagonists (villains) which the leading character(s) have to face, whiny supporting characters and abstract or random situations the main hero is placed which don't make sense. Sometimes a new team of writers are employed that make or break a programme and alter the characterizations of the main players.

This brings me back to originality, now face it, most of the concepts and ideas have already been done. New writers must come up with new directions to recycle the same formula or break the whole tradition completely and try change the game where no creator has gone before. It is stupid and darn right ignorant to even utter a sentence like this "Oh, they don't make cartoons like they used to" or "Can't they come up with something new?". Anyone who says these lines just go home or better yet live under a rock. There is nothing new, point blank. Even the creators of Batman, Bill Finger and Bob Kane, got the idea from pulp fiction such as Zorro and The Shadow.

Expense

The important thing to note is animation costs lots of money, especially in feature-length projects, Disney and Pixar only put out a feature animated film every 2-4 years. The range of their budget depends on art direction, time slot, schedule, working hours, technology, studio hire, specification etc. 1/3 of animators in the UK are women and professional animators over £25,000-£36,000 with an hourly rate of £12-£15/hr while scriptwriters can earn £120,000 and can earn excess of £8,000 per episode if the writer is in a writer's union such as WGGB (Writer's Guild of Great Britain) while in the U.S. from WGA (Writer's Guild of America) fees range from $5,000-$10,000. Producers earn between £1,100-£1,800+ a week but salaries can exceed to £40,000-£55,000 with experience and the average salary for directors in this field is around £86,000. The average money spent is $1 Mil-$3 Mil per episode (£623,200-£1.8 Mil).

Everyone needs to be paid, the episode has to receive a lot of ratings and the main players in the offices has to make sure they keep the members of the board happy and they reach targets. Every show cut off air is a sting in their production cost and don't ever think big time studios don't get taxed by the taxman. My point I'm trying to make is the officials cash in on entertainment that does not actually please. Face it, they are targeting a particular demographic regardless of gender, race, etc. who are aged 5-14+ and 18-40+. These people don't give a cahoots about people over 50's and 60's, which is awfully strange as the average employees within these fields are at least between 30 and 60.

Seasons

Another problem is syndication, which is the number of episodes animated shows are sorted into grids for the market called blocks to cash in on DVD and Blu-ray sales. It is well known that networks in the UK buy  US shows and distribute them on multinational and domestic programming such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney XD, CITV and CBBC. Executives of production offices have enforced either a 52 or 65 episode limit rule on cartoons, especially from the US and Canada. Executives do not want to take risks on shows which may not give them the ratings they want regardless of how successful or a failure it is. That is why often new shows do not last more than 1 or 2 seasons, they are indeed exceptions of course like for example The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Boondocks, American Dad and some anime but the fact remains that business is business in the long run.

That is it for now,

Reboots or Remakes that Make or Break a Franchise.

To celebrate the release of the Sony Pictures film, The Amazing Spider-Man, coming to theatres this July 3rd 2012 I have decided to speak about the subject of reboots and remakes that make or break a franchise. For those of you who do not know, a reboot is where a piece of narrative is discontinued and therefore lists the continuity of that original film or series of films to be non-canon and stats with new and fresh ideas. Whereas a remake is the opposite, it uses the previous films as a base for its source material and uses the same storyline while adding other elements and themes which usually updates a film to match a modernised setting. Now that is cleared up, let me give you a few examples of each remake and reboot; some good, bad and darn right ugly.

Reboots

Alright, first let's start with the reboots.

Best

We never get tired of 007, even though the Bourne movie franchise reinvented what it means to be a spy in the 21st century. Producers of Casino Royale (2006) booted Pierce Brosnan out and birthed the MI6 agent with a whole new face and hardened image in the form of renowned actor Daniel Craig who was praised for his performance in Layer Cake (2004). Stemming closer to the Ian Flemming novels of yesteryear, Martin Campbell envisioned a blood-thirsty and less charismatic Bond. With mission after mission of exonerating talent from the main and supporting cast members and fast-paced action, this Bond spawned a less received sequel Quantum of Solace (2008) and 23rd Bond 'Sky Fall' (2012) with Sam Mendes (Revolutionary Road) at the helm.

Fine

After Director Ang Lee's (Brokeback Mountain) effort with "Hulk" (2003) made the green giant seem like a laughing stock with irrelevant melodrama, as borish as Shakespeare's Hamlet, Louis Letterier (Transporter 1 & 2) decided to make the Angry Man whole again with a new back story, cast and Marvel having creative control. Even the actor in the lead pitched in to make the script deviate from the previous movie as much as possible that created a less weepish, heroic and smarter Bruce Banner (Edward Norton). The script was tighter with some "easter eggs" found on the silver screen but was boggled down with intense special effects and CGI that turned it from soap opera to popcorn flick. However, the movie had its high points that shone brighter than its low points.

Worst

I will admit, I never watched the 1994 film based on the video game series but this reboot of the movie does not give me the incentive to watch the last one. Starring Kirstin Kreuk as the titular character, very few adaptations of very well known games can translate very well in cinema and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li (2009) is not one of them. Although the concept was good, I just felt the producers Patrick Aiello and Ashok Amritraj either did not care about the source material or did not try hard enough. Badly casted and terribly choreographed with less than inspiring plot and characters, Kreuk's Chun-Li I'm afraid did not carry the film. This film made Dragon Ball Evolution (2009) look better than it did. Oh well, at least we have the game to fall back to.

Remakes

Now for the remakes, here they are.

Best

First of all, I did not even know Scarface (1983) was a remake. Well if so, it is a very successful one at that and is actually based on the 1932 film of the same name. The well over 2 hours long crime film tells us the story of Cuban refugee, Tony Montanna (Al Pacino) who becomes a drug crime lord in Miami, Florida with "Manny Ray" (Steven Bauer), it lets us know about the rise and fall of their infamous drug cartel organization. With a great structure, acting, themes and well envisiged direction by De Palma, this cautionary tale scripted by Oliver Stone allowed us to dig deeper into the psyche of Montana and is arguably one of the best gangster films of all time.

Fine

A remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film Internal Affairs, The Departed (2006) was directed by Martin Scorsesee and starred such big names as Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg and Jack Nicholson. Brilliantly scripted, well sliced together and strong acting, this jumbled thriller told a story of corrupt cop (Damon) who is placed on the police force as an informant for mob boss, Costello (Nicholson) and Costigan (DiCaprio), recent graduate of the police academy, grudgingly agrees to go undercover as an enforcer for Costello. This confused mess was hard to digest and was thankfully unpredictable, although the message behind the film could not be clearly defined plus the character of Costigan is a bit underdeveloped in terms of his links to his criminal past.

Worst

Directed by the great Tim Burton in 2001, and based on Pierre Boulle's book and the original 1968 film, the Apes riding the King's Horsemen came up with Planet of the Apes. Aboard a space station, sometime in the late 2020's, Leo Davidson (Mark Wahlberg) sends a Chimpanzee into a freak storm and he pilots after the primate. Davidson and crew find themselves on a barren wasteland in a world run by humanoid Apes. Great premise but weak execution from direction, prosphetics, structure and downgraded plotlines, the movie itself eventually became a paradox of it's own doing. The tone was just so bizarre and silly, even the final showdown and climax that ended it all was over the top and it did not make any sense and reminded me of the excuse of an ending from Terminator 3.

Well, that's it for reboots and remakes. I will come back to you next week with  what I got planned for all of you.

My Thoughts on Smallville #1 comic.

Those of you who don't know, Smallville was a long running TV series based on the early years before Clark Kent became Superman, created by writers and producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. It spanned 10 seasons and featured on two networks, The WB and CW, which ended with Kent having finally embraced his destiny and took flight in the iconic red and blue suit and pushed away Apokolips from Earth's orbit. News cropped up of a possible comic book in the works that continues on the hit series. It has indeed, it was released electronically last Friday 13th April on Comixology on phones such as Android and I-Tunes. The first chapter was written by Bryan Q. Miller, who also wrote the TV series, with pencils by Pere Perez.

With the 1st issue heading to print on May 2nd, I managed to catch a quick read of the first chapter of Guardian part 1 on my Samsung Galaxy. It turns out here it has been six months since Kent defeated Darkseid, gave the people hope and thus purged the darkness out of everyone's hearts and saved the Earth from a cosmic threat of intergalactic proportions. Most characters draw their likeness to actors from the Smallville show such as Superman (Tom Welling), Lois Lane (Erica Durance), Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum), Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) and Chloe Sullivan-Queen (Allison Mack). So what can I say about this? Was this a great adaptation?

As far as I can tell, it was interesting. It's too early to judge the entire series as a whole but it was gratifying. The only problem I had with it was the pacing felt a bit rushed. However, it does set the stage of what to expect, for example, Kent no longer goes by The Blur and is now fully fledged in his Superman persona. Little is known of his work at the Daily Planet but I hear Kent still works the same floors down whereas Lois is promoted 8 floors up. I won't spoil the whole story, but it involves a rescue mission in space. Chloe and Oliver are enjoying their marriage and still at Watchtower. The suit that Kent wears from the New 52 is okay, but I like the Superman Returns inspired version better. The writing has done justice to each character's voices, which is what I would expect from having done Smallville and the art is really great.

I will be honest, I never really got into Superman's character, I grew up on the cartoon series and the Smallville TV show from way back in 2001 but only for the spectacle of it and nothing more. I more invested in the live action version than anything else. Only because Superman is too god-like and it is hard to care for someone too powerful. If I were to read any DC comic, it would be Batman but this one and some of it's material would convince me to buy it. I can't wait till the next chapter on April 20th and I'm waiting to see how they pull it off and who Superman will face from his rouges gallery, plus how it will fit this universe. I leave by saying kudos to the solid, encompassing, writing, excellent art but short and flat-nosed finish.

Next post is my Director's Cut,

Ezee Media Online Series Moved Ahead.

The untitled Ezee Media project for the spy-drama online Pilot are moving ahead, I am not certain about the ramifications but we definitely want to make it. There isn't much I can say on the status of its production but it's in the early stages of production. I can't wait to see what Ezee can deliver from the next draft when I see it. At the moment, I am looking forward to Maria Orsutzu to hand me her wash of colour for the 1st issue of the adrenaline pumping miniseries, Nemesis the Hunter's Mark. Jstaarz and I just filmed a scene of Writer's Block with more to come. I will commit to the next draft of the Pilot after I have tied up a few loose strings in my schedule. Next post is my thoughts on the Smallville comic for issue 1 that was released online today on Friday 13th April.

Have a good weekend,

New Web Pilot.

Back with another update, this is the new online series produced by Ezee Media, about a spy-drama on MI5 agents suddenly going missing and it being tied with the Chinese government. Writer/Director/Producer, Matthew Easy, decided to do a Pilot rather than a full 5 episode run, there are no details on the actual title of the series as of yet but development is still ongoing. He said he's focusing on show running the pilot before continuing the entire series. I will help the Director with the Pilot after I have finished some next projects I got lined up for this year. Apparently, he wants to get it right first hand before he does the series, Writer's Block over the Frontier Entertainment network is nearing production and I will be helping out over there also. Killer Heels, the short film, at Seventh Wonder Films is now in post-production. Next week, I will be revealing a new treat for you, also.

Until next time,

A New Year.

It's a new year and a new dawn for some upcoming projects, I spoke to Matthew Ezee and he said that there will be 5 episodes of his spy drama each 10 minutes long, not 6 episodes. So there will be heart-dropping action and techno-savvy language in the vein of "Spooks". I won't spoil too much of the plot but I'll give you a brief summary, I read the first Pilot and it "absolutely blows you away". Set in London, it throws us in the world of espionage and sticky detail with the Chinese government as elaborate British MI5 Agents are mysteriously eliminated one by one by an unknown enemy. Primarily, I will be serving as Script Editor and Executive Producer of the project. I will be co-writing at least 3 episodes and doing a polish every now and then, but it is looking to be done well.

What I can't wait for is to jump back on pre-production for the Nemesis anime trailer, I am nearly finished doing my part in the new short film I told you about. As soon as that is clear, I will be finishing off what is left of the storyboards, which is 1/2 finished now. I am employing more artists to be tied in with this project, some have even worked for Marvel and DC Comics. In the meantime, for the comic, I have pitched to an independent publisher Time Bomb Comics and contacted a couple more such as Dark Horse and Image Comics. My website will be re-launched later this year, most likely during the summer. I have an announcement to make this coming week about the project and there will be more update videos around March. I should be done with Killer Heels a week from now.

Breakin' da Rules is alright, I finished recording a track called "My Sweetness" and when I have traveled to Atlanta, GA and Greenville, Virginia it had inspired me to write two songs for my EP, Rules Broken; one about Atlanta girls and another about fitting in with other people, both of which I am working on and I'm going to record a track I'd like to call "Bridges". I'm not sure about "We'll Be At the Top", a track I did with 4 Real and Bola, but there is one track I did with a few artists, Neeko, Assassin and Breezy called "My Life" and can't wait to collaborate with them on "All Night". I will be hitting more time at the studio, plus I will be doing freestyles every 2 months with the next one coming this February and hope to work with Blaze Barnation very soon. He dropped his mixtape Barnation World last year and he'll be spittin' on my mixtape. Also, check out American rapper Fly Plann as well.

2 New Films 1 Web Series.

Everyone, there are big things happening in 2012 apart from two epic comic book series on our bad ass, masked avenger of vengeance and 1 crime thriller short about misguided youth from the houses of Frontier Entertainment and Ezee Media. Next, is another short film to be produced by the company Frontier, with "Jstaarz" slated to direct, now currently in development. Then, a spy-drama series co-written, produced and directed by Matthew Ezee is to appear on Youtube. I am not sure how much episodes is being put up but so far 6 episodes have been written, cast is ongoing with locations observed and production looking to begin sometime in January 2012. A working title has been put up but is likely to change. Another short film, I can't talk too much about is called "Killer Heels". It is done by a separate company outside of this party and I've been chosen to do storyboards, I'll let you know of it soon.

Thanks for reading,

Nemesis Billed for Web Series.

Hello people, I'm back after just finishing up some business. I want to let you know, that it's too early to say but the animation trailer for my online/social media and video platform maybe going for a potential animation web series. Cameron Austin and I are looking into it but depending on the success of my trailer and the comic book series, this is not set in stone, however, we could even be looking at a potential animated TV series. In the meantime, getting both Nemesis the Hunter's Mark and its prequel Nemesis Dawn of a Legend off the ground is my top priority. As you may know, the trailer goes with the package. For the cartoon, we'll just have to see how it goes. Someone came to me about this before, I would like to make one but there's a lot of things to consider like the right script and directors for the job and person who could bring it to life.

Back again soon,

Father Figure Of Next Gen Super-Hero.

The newest addition to the cast for the short animation has been chosen, Portuguese born actor and presenter, his name is Rony Romero and he now currently lives between London and his hometown. Drama experiences come from working on TV and several agencies, having previously worked in Rede Record and Record International. He is set to voice Henry's wise uncle, Phillip "Phil" Jackson who has an idea on the dark curse the protagonist inhabits within. Two more cast members left to go through auditions. I am searching for an actress to have a small cameo as Henry's late mother, Sarah Epps Jackson and plus someone to play the child version of the leading role. They should be up there soon, as for the actor to voice him as a teenager well if you are a Facebook user and have joined the cause, you would have known who is playing him yesterday. I will voice the adolescent version of the main character.

I realize some of you out there are quite anxious or interested to see the next chapter that is a follow up to the prequel, Nemesis Dawn of a Legend, which have been posted on this blog. Well the hold up on Nemesis the Hunter's Mark is Rommel Fabian who is busy on two other comic book projects but he is coming back to finish the last few pages. I have finished all the colour notes and it is ready to be sent to Kieron Boothe. It won't be long before Fabian is done then I can send both the lettered pages and notes to Kieron to wash over in technicolor. We are still in talks about whether the series will be monthly or bi-monthly so I'll keep you updated on the video I plan to do this week or next after the interview with Jordan O'Connor.

Next is the interview and then updates,

New Kid on the Block.

Shooting of the first episode Pilot is about to begin on The New Kid, directed with a story by Jstaarz for Frontier Entertainment and executive produced by me. I am excited to be a part of this project and wish him luck in creating a pamphlet of a down to earth teenage and young adult drama. It's something I wanted to do ever since I left Pulp Theatre. I play a supporting character called Kellerman/Killerman, I went on to revise some of the scenes, but the director said it was not really necessary and kept it simple. The scene I am doing that I re-written in draft 2, is where you see me for the first time and of course our protagonist of the Pilot. I wanted to give more tension between my character plus the main character in their interactions, so it provided leeway for this guy that I play to be perhaps untrustworthy but it was dropped and can only do what the director says and can't really intrude on someone else's work. Sometimes your own flip side on things doesn't work, even though you believe your ideas are sound. Of course, I know what I would do but its not the vision a director may relieve so you have to lay low.

Well, that's it for today, I will reveal the actor who is playing The New Kid some other time and by then I should have stills of the Pilot and maybe an interview with the man himself. Stay tuned for more details about the show. By the end of this week, I have another post coming soon that I am talking about the process of upcoming comic book miniseries Nemesis the Hunter's Mark and maybe post up a teaser poster, synopsis for issue 2, a press release of interview, a little more thorough details of the small transition from Nemesis Dawn of a Legend and this new series and many more information. At the moment, I am pretty occupied with my other project with my own short film and got a meeting arranged to discuss the production of Hardest to Survive. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of Easter and the hot weather. Kbon Reviews has been on lock down for awhile but he will review the latest films and music very soon.

Actor to leave Survive short

Got a update for Hardest to Survive, had a meeting that day and the film is definitely going on track. The comic book miniseries is soaring into print as fast as you could fly a plane. However, unlike the publishing of the comic, the filmmaking process is a challenge. While minor or major things can go wrong during the idea, concept, writing, penciling and even the inking phases of a comic book/graphic novel which can easily be corrected (not including the inks) before it reaches onto the final stages that lead to printing and distribution on the shelves; anything can go wrong during production of a film from continuity to budgeting.

Well, unfortunately, actor Richard O'keefe, who was going to portray the character of Nate, decided to exit the short film of my crime thriller due to conflictions with his schedule. Both of us are truly sad that he had to leave and he wanted to continue being a part of this process, but obviously he's not able to be a part of it. I wish him good luck in whatever path he takes and goes far in the future. He was a good addition to the film crew and cast. Nate is one of the main characters in the film. Not to worry though, I've got a replacement to fill in the character of Nate.

I will reveal the actor who is playing Nate shortly after The New Kid is done, he will be in that Pilot episode of that project directed by Jstaarz. See if you could spot the person who is playing Nate. The script is being tailored for a shooting this weekend and one actor from my short film will be appearing in that episode. Watch out for The New Kid on Frontier, Youtube, Twitter and talks are being made for this to go on SBTV. Test shoots of Hardest to Survive hopefully should wrap up by the end of April or in the middle of May 2011 with a full week of shooting happening thereafter. My next post will be about The New Kid released this Easter.

The New Kid update and more!!!!

It's now the 5th April people, and it's nearly half term, yes!!! Now I got an update for you, first I just handed the revised script of the pilot for The New Kid. For those of you who don't know what this is, check my last post. Its a new web series coming from the F-ENT team and it stars a couple talented youth about a newbie who enters a new block. Jstaarz, the creator, will direct and this will be executive produced by myself and I will star in it. Shooting may start ASAP during the Easter holidays and should then be uploaded on the Myspace page here is the link for it http://myspace.com/frontierent, on my Youtube account, the link for it is here http://www.youtube.com/user/89kbon my new site http://www.nemesisthehunter.co.uk/ and on this blog. Photograph stills of behind the scenes maybe on this blog also. Check Frontier Entertainment on Facebook.

Another thing is with Hardest to Survive, I am speaking to all of the actors involved with that and I will not start Principal Photography until all testing shoots are done. I have got back my Photoshop again, I should be able to post more artwork from the comic book prequel last year, Nemesis Dawn of a Legend but not as yet. I will try and find time in order to do that, but I have just been handed more pencils from Julio, the co-artist and designer, so I got more inking for issue 1 of Nemesis the Hunter's Mark. Lettering from Rommel will be handed to me this week and hopefully I can get the inking done in time before Easter break so that I can hand in all of the inks and letters for Kieron to colour. More services will be added on the new site soon, so make sure you check them out for apps or stuff like that.

See yah later,

New Covers and Breaking Story!!!

Above are two covers for Nemesis Dawn of a Legend #1 and #2, on the top shows The Nemesis seen for the first time and the bottom is Henry in an Afro escaping in the wilderness of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. I have great news for you people who still are looking forward to my short film that is coming out, The Hardest to Survive, today I am having a meeting with some advisors to book more auditions very soon. Not only that, but test shoots begin this October 9th next week Saturday. This will be a teaser and the video clip will not only show two of the best actors who are portraying Nate and Remo, but it will be shot at the same location where producers filmed the last episode of The Bill. Richard Okeffe and Nicky Marshall will play Nate and Remo respectively. Just before I crack on, I have a synopsis for the eighth issue of Nemesis Dawn of a Legend below.

Nemesis Dawn of a Legend#8

A Blank Slate part 4 of 6: Blood and Bullets.

"On a mission to find out his true destiny through an unrevealed totem, Henry Jackson continues his training with his master, Jung Kwan, only to unwittingly give up on his duties and go on a quiet killing spree. During a crazy act of justice on the scum of New York, he finds himself chased by the authorities. If that is not enough he meets a questionable ally who has dangerous connections to the very pests who got his father on the wrong side of the law. With the police getting close on his heels, caught right in the middle of a supermarket, Henry must decide whether to go along with this stranger and escape or just act on his own will. Who is this person and can he really trust him? Is Henry at all safe with the company this guy keeps? Does this guy have some agenda under his bandanna or what? A Blank Slate saga rages on with part 4"

Hope you all loved issue 7, as you know, issue 8 will be posted on Friday's as usual. Speaking of that day Smallville the new season has just hit the USA. The first episode was sweet, those people really pulled their weight with the whole Clark nearly becoming Superman, the Boy Scout we all know. I remember starting to watch it when it first came out. I was about eight, good times. You will enjoy the next couple of issues to come, I haven't started writing the next issues after 8 yet but in the next couple issues after this, you will be surprised at the result during the conclusion of this second arc. Beware of this one for those who don't want to know what is to come. SPOILER ALERT!!! Issue 9 will see Henry on the hunt for one of the assassins and is hot on the trail while Issue 10 introduces a main villian of this story, which springs into a major battle royal and there will be blood.

Later everyone,

It's a new day!!

Yes it's a new day,

A few of you have engaged in the roles that will be shown in my short film, The Hardest to Survive, but there maybe another seperate audition that can take place in the next few weeks. The first audition is about to happen on Wednesday 11th August 2010. I will let you know how the auditions went and when the next one is. I told you about some animation I'm working on last time and I've half done the storyboards for that for the first episode, but let me tell you this: storyboards for animation is different to storyboards for live action. I won't get into the details, but it's hard work cause your dealing with creating a world your characters live in.

I just did re-writes for the scripts of the Nemesis Dawn of a Legend comic and did thumbnails for the first two issues of cover art for #1,#2 and did issue 5 and 6. I will start pencilling and inking my latest ones for you, which is going to be released on 13th and 20th August. Don't forget, the promotions of both my film and comic are still going up, Jstaarz and Mathu Ezee are sorting out all the printing of the T-Shirts as we speak and discussed selling them online. I will let you know more about how it's going later, but remember the four steps I told you in order to get them. Anyway, as I said before let me know what you like about them and just stay tuned for the comic books I put out and the merchandise. Kbon might be doing a review on his site for that Predators film remake or the Prototype game, so go check that out on http://www.kbonreviews.blogspot.com/. I'll be back soon.

See yah,

More Updates!! Comments On Recent Projects!!

Hey everyone,

I hope you liked what I had to offer with Nemesis Dawn of a Legend#1 which was released last Friday. At the moment I am working on issue 2 and preparing to launch it on the 4th June. I hope you have enjoyed your bank holiday because I sure have. I'll give you the latest sweepstakes for The Hardest to Survive film later on this month, in the meantime, here is the synopsis for issue 2 of the comic book story.

Nemesis Dawn of a Legend#2

The Forthcoming part 2 of 4: Open Wounds

"Young Henry Jackson, amnesiac traveller, becomes a vagabond in the heart of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Guided only by the barest fraction of his memories, Henry's only purpose is to see his loved ones again but constant flashes in his mysterious past suggest he no longer has relatives out there to go to. Regardless, he must seek a way to return home; but the authorities that may have clues to his mental state are not far. Who are these people? How do they know him? Why are they after him? Henry must follow his instincts and overcome his sudden thirst for killing before it destroys him."

Don't miss this exciting new issue of Nemesis Dawn of a Legend, it will be posted on this blog and no longer on Deviant Art. We are posting two issues bi-monthly so keep blogging as the plot begins to take heat and our characters start to come on to their own. Next week I will give you a link to another site that is similar to this site and is done by my friends, it has reviews on films, music, games and tv shows. So check there as well if your interested on getting your entertainment reviewed. Ask the person to do a review and I'm sure the person over that site will do it for you.

Laters,
