Relocation of Kbon Reviews, GRM Days and Career Avenues...

Everyone, I'm back again after a long absence, a lot has happened in the past months before Christmas! I decided to share with you what I have been up to and my career I plan to head onto. Firstly, I would like to announce that Kbon Reviews, the urban blog for film, music and video game reviews is currently now inactive and will be reallocated to a different site and will be supported by Live Mag who I am now working with as a contributing writer/video editor on their site. There, on the site will be opinion pieces that will have subjects which effect people in society in the UK and abroad too but there mostly will be reviews for entertainment. I will post the new site sometime this Friday evening and the first review will be on rising femcee, Paigey Cakey who released her mixtape 'The Next Paige!'

Enough of that, what I decided to speak about is my journey and how I am progressing, as you know I released Nemesis the Hunter's Mark#1 online back in October! Many of you may know this, those who haven't shame on you (joking!) but I used to write for GRM Daily (formerly Grime Daily) I have been writing for them voluntarily for almost a year now. Since then, I have joined LIVE and now Link Up TV!

Let me start by saying I don't plan to throw anyone under the bus, my time with GRM Daily had some highs and lows. I met performing artists such as Mikel Ameen, Lady Lykez and wrote an interview for the duo SAS just to name a few. Those were great times and I managed to interact with an aspiring young blogger/writer/PR assistant from Pardon My Blog. As you know, things went downhill after that, I won't go into the details but I was very much underrated and the chores as a writer didn't help things so I decided to quit and make my way out!

I ended up with LIVE pretty much accidentally, it was initially temporary but there was a huge network of people I managed to converse with such as staff from ITV, BBC, MTV and so many more. Now the rest is history, as I balance my time at uni whilst committing to exciting content from both of the youth orientated media/entertainment/publishing platforms Link Up TV and LIVE. This is also part of the reason why I have posted a single post on this site since October!

So what does the future hold for me? Well, I am continuing to produce work for Nemesis the Hunter and I have some other comic projects at the back burner in development as well as the prequel graphic novel. 'Hardest to Survive' has been post-poned in place of a new 5 minute short called 'The Hood' that is likely to be released this Spring and I have returned to music. At the moment, I am 10 tracks in with twice more being prepared until I am satisfied with the content!

Make sure you stay tuned Friday ciao!

New Info on Creative Arts Program.

Everyone, I have returned with some more information about the Creative Arts program for young people  between the ages of 14-24. Sponsored by UnLtd and EWAV (Eye With a View), LD Studios presents a way to reach out to youth and get a chance to be part of the creative process in bringing the comic book to the screen. People will get a chance to be involved from lending their hand to the script to film and get the film shown in multiplexes, festivals and online. Applicants will be credited for their work and have incentives. The deadline will be July 18th, 2013.

We are looking for talented creative writers, graffiti artists, actors, graphic designers, music producers, singers/vocalists, voice-actors, rappers, lyricists, hair/make-up artists, costume designers, filmmakers, runners, editors, bloggers, promoters, researchers and web designers to contribute. I will be visiting people in schools, colleges and universities to talk about this.

Documentary Cancelled.

I apologise for a week with no reply, I was supposed to post on this blog a Documentary on an 6 month project I have done but  unfortunately it is cancelled until further notice. By the time of release, it already gone through post-production via editing and it is finished. However, I had some problems uploading it via YouTube. Therefore, I can't upload it here unless I do it through another format, so I decided to postpone the post of this video until further notice until I can find the right format I can upload it to. I am sorry for the delay, but it's better to send you things late than to send you rubbish.

Later on,

Shoot Your Story Winner.

Remember the Shoot Your Story event I told you about quite some time ago for Lewisham Council in association with the Wake Up team? Well, two weeks ago, a ceremony was hosted at the Civic Suite for the runners up and prize winners. It was for participants to film a 2 minute film showing how people are doing something for the community and showcasing their directing skills. I would like to say in first place was Matthew Easy from Ezee Media who got a chance to get work experience in film production company and see many celebrities. I give him a round of applause for that. In second place was someone from a community center, I apologise for not remembering his name and I made it to third place. Both of us won prizes too and was really good. I thank everyone for inviting me there.

Later fans,

New Kid Pilot finished.

I am going to let you in on a brief rundown on The New Kid Pilot written and directed by Jstaarz. The 5 minute short has been shot yesterday and is almost wrapped up, there is a few details I will give out which are quite major spoilers. I no longer play Killerman/Kellerman character in the show but I play someone else. There has been a change in the casting but the story and concept is still quite sound. Sean Marquis, the actor who is initially supposed to play our title character is not in the episode but is still involved in Hardest to Survive. There is one more shot needed to be shot that includes the main character's introduction, but the majority of the show has been finished and is about to go through editing process. I'm not sure how long it will take but expect the Pilot to be on Spiff TV, Youtube and Facebook by this November.

New Logo and More News.

Like the new look, why have I changed it you ask? Well I wanted something that is a little bit more distinctive from the older version and is what has been shown on the cover of the first issue but without the dark motif and is orange. Don't worry, the orange eye is no reality TV concept its just a representation of the mascot's power, so no Big Brother here. I'll leave questions about lettering to Blambot, anyway, I have an improtant update to make. Since the site is being run, more multimedia will be underway within a couple months by the LD Studios Team and I am about to edit a video for something else. It may be shown on the website as an example of our services. Anyway, the news is I am in talks with showing some preview pages of issue 1 of the comic will be shown on Wake Up magazine. For those who have not seen the pencilled and inked version of those page search for Nemesis the Hunter's Mark on Facebook Pages and they should be there. Lettered pages should be on there soon.

Be cool everyone,

The Launch.

Welcome back everyone, we're now in the beginning of March. Enjoyed your weekend? Well, I got loads to inform you about. Nemesis the Hunter now has it's very own website, I will reveal the address soon enough, at the moment, its under construction but I will make a press release soon. Its a multimedia site designed to give services for the purpose of your entertainment, so stay tuned for updates. The website is also made for those who have any ideas in media such as videos, music, artwork, writing from their own imagination to come forward and present their space and get someone to enhance them for a generous fee. The requirements I will place on the site when it is ready but these are for written or graphic material only.

In other news, Julio Falkenhagen, the co-artist on my book, Nemesis the Hunter's Mark, has just finished pencilling my pages for the 1st issue and I have nearly done the inks. It will take at least a few weeks before printing can be made. Julio is now ready to take on issue 2, I just have to send him layouts and the script for that. Lettering is being worked on at the moment and the animation which should be out before the book is coming out is still in the development stages, I've just handed in the second draft to one of my co-workers, which is being revised, who also helped me out with "Aggro" for Pulp Theatre. The next draft will be penned by me and the story will be revised by an editor and approved for production.

See you later,

I have some extras for the film arranged, another thing I would want to announce is I want to thank everyone who visited this site and followed up till now. Everyone, I promise you that the film will be finished and ready for all to see.

Director's Cut: Hardest to Survive.

I had a meeting with a veteran film director, Enrico Tessarin, on Tuesday and he gave me some good advice on production for the upcoming crime thriller, Hardest to Survive. Mathu Ezee is going to send me clips by the end of this week. I was not able to shoot last Saturday as the DP was shooting a music video last week and is doing one of a feature film this week. I should be able to do one next week, but at the moment, I am focusing on editing the last clip I did before I do anything else and obviously I have to make sure that the actors will be available on that day of filming. I will upload pictures from the shoot on Facebook group page and Hardest to Survive is now on Twitter. Follow me on twitter at www.twitter.com/lildre_cains. I will let you know when the next shooting takes place.

More news coming next week,

Nemesis the Hunter's update!!!

What's up everyone,

Here are some brief updates from me, Julio Falkenhagen (designer and co-artist) is half finished with pencils for issue 1 of the upcoming seven issue comic book series Nemesis the Hunter's Mark. It will not be long before I will be doing the inks, I can't wait. Plus I will be going over to a meeting sometime Monday to discuss about the pictures, but I promise these are really hyperactive stuff. I won't spoil too much of it, but the style relates to my art, very American comics/Japanese Manga feel to it. Released next Tuesday will be a teaser poster for issue 1, character sketches done by myself and Julio and some preview images. I will also release a synopsis for the first issue and brief summary of the overall storyline on that day. Issue 13 and 14 for Nemesis Dawn of a Legend has been handed to my editor, she is now going over the scripts. I apologise for the delay, for now I will just work on the other pictures.

Bye

Hardest to Survive clip 1.

It's finally here, the clip for The Hardest to Survive. This is under a minute long but the characters playing is Eugene Osei as Trey and Nicholas Marshall as Remo. I directed this and Mathu helped with the editing. If you are a Facebook viewer go on groups and type in Hardest to Survive on the address bar and you should find a page dedicated to our upcoming film. This is where you can see news feeds, meet people who like it and view, images, applications or clips on there. See the clip below and tell me what you think. I am shooting another clip next Saturday and should be posting another one by this Friday or the next. I hope you lot enjoyed your half term break as I have, did not really go to any bonfire night but I spent time with my family and chilled out. The film will be distributed by Artefacts Edutainment and will be produced by Ezee Media, Lil Dre studios and Frontier Entertainment. Have a good time.

Peace

Episode Nine: Whisper.

Everyone, the script for issue 9 "Whisper" is here. I will post the cover art for that some other time. Someone still needs to sort out Photoshop, but it is getting sorted out. Next week on the 5th November, as normal, issue 10 will be released on Friday and this one wraps up "A Blank Slate" saga. I will be out tommorow to help Mathu Ezee shoot his film and mine and let you know how that went. For now, just enjoy the story plus write any comments you have on it that are positive, however, if there is something you don't like tell me why. The actor who is going to play Trey is Eugene Yeboah who has done theatre work and many other dramas plus Ace Asaun is going to play Malachi, the gang lord. I will send you the mug shot and the finished clip sometime next week.

Streaming....

To everyone,

Yeah, I got a few things to say here. Unfortunately, covers for issue 8 (I am working on) and 9 (coming in two days) is not available. I am getting somebody to fix Photoshop on my computer, without it, you cannot get any colour. However, the scripts will be printed as normal and you get to see the story. Also, everyone can find the synopsis for issue 9 below. I will be doing the editing with Jstaarz tommorow plus he is setting up a location for his own short film, Cold Outside, which involves an interesting tale about mistaken identity. I have no idea who the actors will be for that or anymore details surrounding it, but he will be able to fix the computer problem I have anyways. Auditions for Hardest to Survive is still ongoing, but I have two more actress' for them. I have yet to find roles that fit Lee but I have found the ideal actors who is playing Trey and Malachi. The names I will reveal at a later date when the confirmation is upheld.

Nemesis Dawn of a Legend#9

A Blank Slate part 5 of 6: Whisper

"Finishing up his training with Jung Kwan, Henry Jackson finally discovered his totem; the symbol of air, wearing the symbol on his dog tags everyday to remind him of his purpose: to dish vengeance or punishment against those who prey on the souls who cannot help themselves and protect the weak. Never before has Jackson been this focused and driven in accomplishing his goal. Now on the hunt for the marauding forces who threatened his guardian, Jackson decides to keep his uncle in hiding after he is well and confront the same assassins behind a powerful organization called The Commission. He is now confident in his abilities that has now increased over 100 fold and managed to supress the urges, his "Beserker Instinct" that corrupt his mind - wearing a new uniform - in ownership of his birthright. Despite these changes in heart can Jackson really be cured of his temptations? Will his powers be enough to defeat Carmen "Richie" Richards? How did he get to this point in the first place? Everything will be explained in the second to last part of 'A Blank Slate' part 5 of 6." One rumour is all it takes.

Thank you for reading and see yah,

Half Term Break....

Fans, I had a really tiring but good time yesterday, Jstaarz managed to edit bits of the clip and it is descent so far. It took some time for rendering but he did a good job. Editing will continue next Thursday and the preview should be uploaded on this site pretty soon. Now that I'm on break, I can finally relax after six weeks of studying. Speaking of which, it gives me some free time in order to update this site every now and again. I got some more news for all of you, I plan to start filming and principal photography sometime in early 2011. There's lots of big things happening that I don't want to spoil yet, and that will be something I won't reveal until sometime during the end of the year around Winter. If and when it goes to plan, then I'll spit out the news on what's going on. So far, it's too early to confirm but it involves a large team. For now, I will be focusing on the cover art that you deserve. Again, I am sorry it's not up yet but I'm a very busy guy. Before you cut my throat for this one let me say that Nemesis Dawn of a Legend#9 is out next Friday 29/10/10 and #10 will be out the following week on 05/11/10. Those issues will be key to a big event coming on the horizon, as I have promised, I will do some more images for my Bios page.

Peace,
