Relocation of Kbon Reviews, GRM Days and Career Avenues...

Everyone, I'm back again after a long absence, a lot has happened in the past months before Christmas! I decided to share with you what I have been up to and my career I plan to head onto. Firstly, I would like to announce that Kbon Reviews, the urban blog for film, music and video game reviews is currently now inactive and will be reallocated to a different site and will be supported by Live Mag who I am now working with as a contributing writer/video editor on their site. There, on the site will be opinion pieces that will have subjects which effect people in society in the UK and abroad too but there mostly will be reviews for entertainment. I will post the new site sometime this Friday evening and the first review will be on rising femcee, Paigey Cakey who released her mixtape 'The Next Paige!'

Enough of that, what I decided to speak about is my journey and how I am progressing, as you know I released Nemesis the Hunter's Mark#1 online back in October! Many of you may know this, those who haven't shame on you (joking!) but I used to write for GRM Daily (formerly Grime Daily) I have been writing for them voluntarily for almost a year now. Since then, I have joined LIVE and now Link Up TV!

Let me start by saying I don't plan to throw anyone under the bus, my time with GRM Daily had some highs and lows. I met performing artists such as Mikel Ameen, Lady Lykez and wrote an interview for the duo SAS just to name a few. Those were great times and I managed to interact with an aspiring young blogger/writer/PR assistant from Pardon My Blog. As you know, things went downhill after that, I won't go into the details but I was very much underrated and the chores as a writer didn't help things so I decided to quit and make my way out!

I ended up with LIVE pretty much accidentally, it was initially temporary but there was a huge network of people I managed to converse with such as staff from ITV, BBC, MTV and so many more. Now the rest is history, as I balance my time at uni whilst committing to exciting content from both of the youth orientated media/entertainment/publishing platforms Link Up TV and LIVE. This is also part of the reason why I have posted a single post on this site since October!

So what does the future hold for me? Well, I am continuing to produce work for Nemesis the Hunter and I have some other comic projects at the back burner in development as well as the prequel graphic novel. 'Hardest to Survive' has been post-poned in place of a new 5 minute short called 'The Hood' that is likely to be released this Spring and I have returned to music. At the moment, I am 10 tracks in with twice more being prepared until I am satisfied with the content!

Make sure you stay tuned Friday ciao!

New Info on Creative Arts Program.

Everyone, I have returned with some more information about the Creative Arts program for young people  between the ages of 14-24. Sponsored by UnLtd and EWAV (Eye With a View), LD Studios presents a way to reach out to youth and get a chance to be part of the creative process in bringing the comic book to the screen. People will get a chance to be involved from lending their hand to the script to film and get the film shown in multiplexes, festivals and online. Applicants will be credited for their work and have incentives. The deadline will be July 18th, 2013.

We are looking for talented creative writers, graffiti artists, actors, graphic designers, music producers, singers/vocalists, voice-actors, rappers, lyricists, hair/make-up artists, costume designers, filmmakers, runners, editors, bloggers, promoters, researchers and web designers to contribute. I will be visiting people in schools, colleges and universities to talk about this.

Documentary: Independent Artists Showcased on Vimeo.

Hello everyone, hope you enjoyed the Olympics! I have come back to announce that my Documentary will be released on the video sharing site Vimeo and not on YouTube. It will likely be released in October for the Black History Month celebration. Below is a short 30 second teaser of the Documentary. Unfortunately, there were some technical difficulties, which is the reason it was not released two months earlier and this site is better suited for this kind of presentation. All the guests have been featured on it.

Documentary Cancelled.

I apologise for a week with no reply, I was supposed to post on this blog a Documentary on an 6 month project I have done but  unfortunately it is cancelled until further notice. By the time of release, it already gone through post-production via editing and it is finished. However, I had some problems uploading it via YouTube. Therefore, I can't upload it here unless I do it through another format, so I decided to postpone the post of this video until further notice until I can find the right format I can upload it to. I am sorry for the delay, but it's better to send you things late than to send you rubbish.

Killer Heels latest News.

What's up, fans? Just here to let you know about the shenanigans with Killer Heels. I am told the short film will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Again, I'm being tight lipped about that, but I'm saying that I'm proud of how it is looking up. I can't wait to see the finished product and I am confident from the way it is written that it should be brilliant. Although, what is on the blueprint, does not mean its going to be up to scratch in the actual big screen. There are many factors even the average moviegoer can point out. At some point, I will post up some tutorials about how to create your own comic book and graphic novel? This will likely be after I post up the Documentary: Independent Artists sometime in May.

Flyplann interview.

Finally, it's here, the interview you've all been waiting for. Flyplann is here to take you to Cloud 9. Go Wonders Team filmed the one and only rapper, we spoke to him about how he got to where he is now. He did another freestyle, a quick 16 bar to get us buzzing and I'll be honest with you, he's a man with few words. We talked about what he intends to do in the future and who is it in the game he's willing to work alongside. Unsurprisingly, the US native is willing to work side by side with UK artists, but the indie has indeed got a long way to go to hit mainstream artists though I'm sure he could pull it off if he carried enough weight. Inspired by artists like Talib Kweli and Busta Rhymes, he's up for a double feature with Tinie Tempah. So, what are you waiting for? Check the video out.

Do all Scientist's lose their way?

With the release of The Avengers coming to cinemas in less than a month a way in the UK, (we get it early for once, yay!) I decided to put together a question, which has burned through my head since I ever got into movies. In fact, had brewed many of our minds: Do all scientist's lose their way in many media? And what I mean by that is what makes Doctor's in various fields in Science play with God, per se and screw up? This conversation had come about yesterday when I had a brief talk about motivational speakers, which lead into character's of the media and that is when the question cropped up. Most scientist's in TV, comic books and so on are so engrossed in their science whether mixing chemicals, serums and genes or testing particle accelerators, Gamma-spheres and whatever invention that came to mind and these many trials and prodding ultimately becomes their downfall.

Curiosity literally kills the cat, with these folks. Take for example Norman Osborn from the Spider-Man films; shrewd, egotistical, brash father, scientist and CEO of Oscorp. He started off being some kind of father figure to Peter Parker/Spider-Man and only made pep talk with his son, Harry Osborn. Norman had ambition and was not selfish at first, but wanted perfection in the form of soldiers with untapped human potential. So, instead of listening to Dr. Stromm and "go back to formula" Norman took a dangerous risk and inhaled the fumes of the drug and of course became the Green Goblin. He got killed and his son became New Goblin and met the same fate. Another example is Dr. Sebastian Caine from Hollow Man, immediately, we get a smell that reeks of bad company and his disappearing act multiplied his behaviour ten fold. The same can be said for the alien chick from Species.

I guess the question to ask is what is the motivation for their experiments? Let's be real here, some of us would actually want to improve our everyday lives. It's the part of us that want to be more or simply want to make things easier for ourselves. So we continue to advance more and more in technology but isn't the quality of what life has to offer enough? Most of who I mentioned are villains but what about the heroes (or anti-heroes)? Mohinder Suresh from the TV show Heroes started off 2 seasons with his research searching for extraordinary people who could do great things and found a way to make himself superhuman with a formula. It started off great having spider-like powers but he slowly became infected and lacked reasoning but he got a cure and only is left with super-strength and agility. He returned to live a normal life with his new girlfriend in India.

Next will be an interview for Flyplann,

Writer's Block.

What's happenin' fans? I'm just informing that the new short film directed by Jstaarz is coming soon on Youtube. I am doing some of the camera work and there is cast for it too. At some point, I may put up still photography on this blog and show it all to you at a later date, but Principal Photography should take place sometime next week. More on the Flyplann interview this weekend.

The Flyer with the Plan.

Go Wonders Team is about to set up an interview with American born, British raised artist, Flyplann in the coming month. I can't wait to see how this turns out, but viewers don't expect this to be just a 1 on 1 within these flyer miles, the Mystery Man has more to him than meets the eye and he wants us to be clear on that. The interview will be set-up very soon so keep a look out for it on the Frontier Entertainment Youtube channel. Over there, you can also see his freestyle he did for ECHO early on about 2 months ago in 2010.

I'll be back soon,

Flyplann interview.

You know who it is, Dre is on the blog doing what he does best and what he'll intend to fly to. Remember that interview with the animator, Jordan O'Connor, that's not happening. But I'm here to state about an up and coming British-American recording artist, Flyplann a.k.a Flyplane. He's done a freestyle on the ECHO channel you can view on Youtube but nothing is really known about this new guy, he's really into the Grime scene that's out there and even is looking to collaborate with me. Look out for him, though I'm sure he'll blow quite big on the scene. The man with the unusual name stated his name means "Fly" which in American terms means he got "swagger" or has "coolness" and plan which obviously means "the man with the plan". His flow has that kind of slick, monotone to laidback approach to spitting. He says he likes to keep things simple "less is more, he said. That's all we know about him, but he is open to do an interview with us with the "Go Wonders!" team (LD Studios, Frontier Ent and Ezee Media).

Look out for that soon,

Introduction video.

This is the introduction video as promised, its a competition I had to be involved with for an organization called Wake Up as part of Shoot Your Story for Lewisham. Participants had to shoot a video around 2 minutes long detailing a story of what you are all about and how you wish to help the community. I shot the update video, which I am going to post up here next week. Unfortunately, I was not able to interview Jordan O'Connor yet, but I am staging another session where I can do that. I will be coming back for more sweepstakes later on this month.

See you then,

Birmingham Comic Con: 2011.

Everyone, just so you know I just reached Birmingham last night and I'm heading over to the comic-con today in the morning. The update will be coming most likely this week and I'm getting prepared for my last year of six form next week. It's been a tough year, I'm sill waiting for all of my results to come through and so far it's looking good. I will try ad upload the update as soon as I can and I'm working on the interview with Jordan O'Connor plus the introduction video will come through. I will be meeting the likes of Dave Gibbons and Doug Braithwaite at the event. Here are pictures taken of where the location in Birmingham was around the location and during the event around it. Sadly, Mark Millar couldn't turn up at the event due to unforeseen health problems and I wanted to get one of my "The Ultimate's" books and "Wanted" signed.

Interlude IV.

A lot of things have been taking place in the past week, those of you who are from the UK know what I'm talking about. This is the riots that have shaken not only the majority of London but Manchester, Birmingham, Coventry and Bristol. The riots had really messed up the schedule and unfortunately I had to cancel the Summer Arts Event this Friday. Do not worry though, when I get the opportunity, I will host another Q&A but it would most likely be during the Autumn. In spite of this, I have reports that Jordan O'Connor, the animator, agreed to get involved with an interview with Ezee Media and LD Studios. This along with an update video on the projects I am busy on plus an introduction video are coming online on my Youtube channel. On my next post, I will reveal who is the actor who is going to lend his voice to Henry Jackson's character in his teenage years in Nemesis the Hunter's Mark animation trailer.

Update on The New Kid

It has been a struggle to get this project off the ground, but it seems the luck has suddenly begun to change. I can't give you any detail on what is about to rise, however, I can say things are picking where last it left off. I am in the process of getting hold of an actor to not only replace the last person from Hardest to Survive to play Nate but I am also seeing if I could get him a part on this project as well. He does not have a hold of the script for The New Kid yet but he does have a hold of one for my short film. It is too early to determine whether the person I have in mind will be involved in this project but so far he did agree to be in Hardest to Survive. I need to return calls on that one but rest assured, it will take quite a while to get The New Kid on the roll. I will let you know the developments later in another Youtube video but next week I am posting up a video on what I am doing and who I am. I will also try and sneak in an interview slated with Jordan O'Connor from Ezee Media if he is available. Will be in touch very soon.

Speak to you all then

Nemesis teaser trailer.

Everyone taking a good holiday this summer? Well, I have not got time for that this year, but I am taking breaks whenever I get the chance. Printing for issue 1 of Nemesis the Hunter's Mark has been sorted and my production team is about to make the order. I am trying my best to get colour notes done. Kieron Boothe is back to work, once I have sent him the notes colour will be washed over and should expect a release date very soon. It is definitely going to be released over in the summer, for now, here is the sneak peek of cover art of issue 2 done by Dean Richards and the synopsis of that particular issue is below. Amazing, right? There should be a little bit of insight over this creative process planned when you pick issue 1.

Nemesis the Hunter's Mark#2

Part two of seven: Freedom short-lived.

“COVER ART by DEAN RICHARDS, SCRIPT, LAYOUTS & INKS by ANDRE FARQUHARSON, PENCILS by JULIO FALKENHAGEN, COLOURS by JUANMAR STUDIOS AND LETTERS by ROMMEL FABIAN NEMESIS THE HUNTER’S MARK © written and created by ANDRE FARQUHARSON. Charged with a crime he did not commit, Henry goes on the run, having spoken with his uncle about his inheritance along with an ancient curse which inhabited the family, and discovering his father was a mobster who had abused his power for personal gain. He is approached by a man behind shadows after being strung up in a Brazilian jail who offers to drop charges in return for favours he cannot resist. Having returned to the United States, Henry investigates how he came to be, meanwhile a shadowy organization and covert agency is fast on his tracks.”

In regards to my anime trailer, I am casting someone a child actor to play the 9 years old version of the titular character, Henry Jackson/The Nemesis. I am in need of an teenage one as well alongside Courtney Starr who is playing the 24/25-year old protagonist. I have not filmed the interview with one of the animators who is attached to this project, Jordan O'Connor, but you can click on the link address below.

Baring in mind he is a 3D animator, these are works he has done and it does not necessarily mean he will go and then adapt his skills which should affect my vision. My animation will blend 2D hand drawn animation with computer programmes to create American-Japanese influenced anime. A theme song will be produced by UK Hip Hop band "Triple Darkness" member J Tha Exodus and will be performed by British Hip Hop artist "4 Real". For those who are not aware of his music, his video is below. Anyone interested in his channel ask and I will send you a link to his channel but I have to ask him permission.

Trailer aside for now, I have found a possible candidate to replace Richard O'keffe in the role of Nate in the upcoming Hardest to Survive film. I will get back on that later, next week I will post another blog on how my 2011 mix-tape Breakin' Da Rules is coming along and have an update on how my projects is going on a You Tube video.

Later on bloggers,

Cast is almost set...

I have been quite busy last week, I been to the London Film and Comic Con in Earl's Court and saw the star of Prison Break as "T-Bag" and Heroes "Samuel Sullivan" Robert Knepper. Asking him about what things has been like since he left Season 4 of Heroes, he replied "Always working and it has been a lot fun". I met up with artists such as Lee Townsend and he among others gave me a lot of good advice about breaking into the comic book industry.

There is a charity I will take part in for the Red Cross for those who were unfortunate victims of the Tsunami in Japan and the Netherlands. It will be a web comic about an unlikely British model from West London who turns out to be a heroine. No further details will be going into the book just yet except that it is currently being written. Also, expect me to be part of the Birmingham Comic Con in this October 2011. This has been my first time in a convention and it was great but I won't lie, it was overwhelming at first. Especially with so many fans in costumes.

Now on with the main project, Nemesis the Hunter's Mark, spoke to Rommel Fabian and he is finishing off the last half of issue 1 in lettering, Dean Richards has just sent me cover art for issue 2 and I'm trying to finish my share of colour notes. I should be meeting Kieron Boothe about doing some colour. The cast for the animation trailer is almost done, with the actor to play Uncle Phil being searched for around the globe. I am in the middle of polishing a script from my editor for the cartoon and I am finding some more animators for the job to pull this one off. There are meetings to discuss but arrangements will be met.

I'm coming back with an interview of one of the animators, his name is Jordan O'Connor and the synopsis for issue 2.

Nemesis Dawn of a Legend e-book

Welcome back, it's been a busy start of the new year in January and I am here to keep you posted on what is going on with both projects within the next few weeks. Rommel Fabian (letterer) for the upcoming seven issue comic book series, Nemesis the Hunter's Mark, just confirmed he will be a guest artist for the prequel Nemesis Dawn of a Legend alongside myself and Shawn Milazzo who replaces Fabian in lettering duties. The colourist for this book has not been confirmed yet, but I will be quite busy sending Fabian designs for that after I finish with this series. I aim to have a Summer-Autumn 2011 release of the e-book later on this year. I will be handed the pencils from Julio Falkenhagen soon for this real soon. I hope to get back to you with the covers by next week. Also, I had an interview with Ota Otakiju about it, the article will be posted here.

In other news, I just finished shooting an extended clip of The Hardest to Survive today, photographs of behind the scenes will be on my Facebook group page. I plan to re-shoot clip 2 and possibly film clip 3 on 29th January 2011. I apologise for the lateness but that was due to Artefacts Edutainment shutting us out the way they did. I sorting out a meeting with Director Enrico Tessarin from New Treatment to lend a hand with the distribution and handling production of the actual footage. Hopefully I can sort this out in time so that Principal Photography should begin sometime in February. I have yet to receive any more updates on what is happening with the Artefacts organization, but we are definitely moving our studio, Ezee Media and Lil Dre studios, away from Artefacts over to another studio elsewhere.

Take care everyone,

4 Real interview.

Welcome back,

Lil Dre is here with your interview of the spectacular rapper, 4 Real who is really here to speak about how he got involved in the process with the film, The Hardest to Survive, coming out this summer. As you already know, 4 Real is one of a few artists who is doing the soundtrack for my short film. If you've seen the video I posted in here the other day you also know Tactics will be part of it as well and that 4 Real is focusing on a mixtape. I aplogise for the mistake on the video "Get the party started" is not the name of the mixtape but is one of his tracks, so I'm sorry about that. I'm not sure when and where it will be released, but as I'm close in touch with him I may reveal that at a later date. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this video and stay tuned for more updates by the start of next month. May I remind you all that Nemesis Dawn of a Legend#3 is due 02/07/10 and will be close towards the end of the first story arc of the series, which is called "The Forthcoming" followed by issue 4 a week later. I will release some cover art for that as well. Look out for that and tell me what you think of it. The interview is down below.

Follow Kbon Reviews

Everyone listen up,

I always keep promises and I said I will give you the link to a friend on some reviews he does on the internet. He calls himself Kbon and he is a freelance writer, you can ask him to do any review on any product whether it be film, music, videogames, or any interest you have in the media world. The more the better. Follow him on his blog and comment then he will give you as much feedback as he can. At the moment, he is working on a review for Noel Clarke's 4.3.2.1 film, which I think he will post in about two weeks time so follow up on it and see what kind of help he will give you. He is not biased in his reviews and will always try to be constructive as he can in his reviews. The link to the site is down below or you could find it on my links page.

www.kbonreviews.blogspot.com

Another thing I need to say is I am still working on getting an interview on Tactics, he is a real busy guy and he can be real hard to track down. Anyway, expect a post of the interview I did with 4 Real pretty soon, probably near the end of this week. Again, to you folks keep blogging, try get people you know on my blog, let me know what you think of the projects I am doing via comments or you can post your comments on it anonymously. I don't really mind as long as it is something positive and not offensive. If you like what I do tell me, if you don't tell me. I wish all of you all the best yeah and I will be coming back soon for more updates.

See yah,
