Rule's Broken EP.

As I said before in my update video, I'm going to release two different discs of music. One is a mixtape called "Breakin' Da Rules" in 2012 and the other is an EP called "Rule's Broken". At the moment, I've recorded a few tracks for the mixtape and a couple for the EP. I've wrote tons for Breakin' Da Rules and just did another for "Rule's Broken". Of course the recordings have to be mastered and then mixed, which is an ongoing process at the moment. The music video for "She's a Piffy" on my mixtape has been shot, but needs to be edited.

The name up there is for the EP, but I want to talk a little bit about the mixtape. Its Hip Hop/Grime/Rap but has a little bit of Alternative tracks on there, its concept is mainly about a coming of age where I grew up and how I started to become rebellious as I grew older and mainly struggles. I can't tell you all of who will be on the mixtape, most are pretty unknown but one of them I mentioned is Blaze Barnation. I'll be working on a track with him soon. Just look out for my other track "My Sweetness" on my Youtube channel by a singer who is set to appear on X-Factor next year.

I'll be coming back to comic next week,

Nemesis teaser trailer.

Everyone taking a good holiday this summer? Well, I have not got time for that this year, but I am taking breaks whenever I get the chance. Printing for issue 1 of Nemesis the Hunter's Mark has been sorted and my production team is about to make the order. I am trying my best to get colour notes done. Kieron Boothe is back to work, once I have sent him the notes colour will be washed over and should expect a release date very soon. It is definitely going to be released over in the summer, for now, here is the sneak peek of cover art of issue 2 done by Dean Richards and the synopsis of that particular issue is below. Amazing, right? There should be a little bit of insight over this creative process planned when you pick issue 1.

Nemesis the Hunter's Mark#2

Part two of seven: Freedom short-lived.

“COVER ART by DEAN RICHARDS, SCRIPT, LAYOUTS & INKS by ANDRE FARQUHARSON, PENCILS by JULIO FALKENHAGEN, COLOURS by JUANMAR STUDIOS AND LETTERS by ROMMEL FABIAN NEMESIS THE HUNTER’S MARK © written and created by ANDRE FARQUHARSON. Charged with a crime he did not commit, Henry goes on the run, having spoken with his uncle about his inheritance along with an ancient curse which inhabited the family, and discovering his father was a mobster who had abused his power for personal gain. He is approached by a man behind shadows after being strung up in a Brazilian jail who offers to drop charges in return for favours he cannot resist. Having returned to the United States, Henry investigates how he came to be, meanwhile a shadowy organization and covert agency is fast on his tracks.”

In regards to my anime trailer, I am casting someone a child actor to play the 9 years old version of the titular character, Henry Jackson/The Nemesis. I am in need of an teenage one as well alongside Courtney Starr who is playing the 24/25-year old protagonist. I have not filmed the interview with one of the animators who is attached to this project, Jordan O'Connor, but you can click on the link address below.

Baring in mind he is a 3D animator, these are works he has done and it does not necessarily mean he will go and then adapt his skills which should affect my vision. My animation will blend 2D hand drawn animation with computer programmes to create American-Japanese influenced anime. A theme song will be produced by UK Hip Hop band "Triple Darkness" member J Tha Exodus and will be performed by British Hip Hop artist "4 Real". For those who are not aware of his music, his video is below. Anyone interested in his channel ask and I will send you a link to his channel but I have to ask him permission.

Trailer aside for now, I have found a possible candidate to replace Richard O'keffe in the role of Nate in the upcoming Hardest to Survive film. I will get back on that later, next week I will post another blog on how my 2011 mix-tape Breakin' Da Rules is coming along and have an update on how my projects is going on a You Tube video.

Later on bloggers,

"She's a Piffy" Lil Dre Clip

By now you must be thinking on my profile, "Screenwriter, okay, Illustrator; well he does the Art, hmmm... acting well he did a couple videos. Director, well he's doing a short film, but Rapper how did he make that?" I started out rapping since 13 but I didn't take a serious take on it till years later. Since, you're waiting patiently for the comic and the film, I decided to give you a treat. Here, I have a clip of one of my tracks "She's a Piffy". I produced the instrumental and performed on it as my stage name Lil Dre. This is a Hip Hop/Rap/Grime song I written and the music video will be coming soon, I am not sure who will be directing the video but hopefully I should be able to do that next week. I got a Model named Jasmine who is doing the routines and I'm getting hold of dancers. Because I'm busy with two projects, I plan on releasing a mixtape later on this year or in the next just check out my Youtube videos for news. In the meantime, just enjoy the video.

Here is the clip and the link below,

Director's Cut: Hardest to Survive part 3

Everyone, I'm glad you all came back to present to you more news about Hardest to Survive, but first I got some bad news and good news. I will first give you the bad one. Okay, the bad news is that two clips I was supposed to shoot on the 12th and 13th March this year was cancelled due to complications with the actors, time constraints and sechedule. One of the actors in the shoot had an emergency and had to leave quietly off set to sort the problem out, which is at the hospital. I just hope the person there is okay, the other problem is due to lost footage of one clip that is long overdue which is Artefacts Edutainment's fault who lost it during edits, which is the reason I totally cut ties with them. This means I had to support footage, which they have lost by doing at least two days of shooting back to back in two scenes at various locations. If things can't get any worse, the actor who is playing Nate (Richard O'keffe) has got a busy schedule due to exams but I am in talks with him this weekend so that I can make a final decisison on his stay.

The good news, I'm having a meeting with a business advisor this Friday 1st April and I will sign papers for applications for First Light Young Filmmakers among other documents to secure budgeting of the film. I am already in negotiatians with a Director friend Enrico Tessarin about providing me with a Producer. If this goes right, I should be able to start Principal Photography in April/May. I need to sort out a Production Schedule and what the budget is going towards and I have slowly grasped different extras who should be around for this film. I got a casting director searching for a potential actor who can play one of Malachi's henchmen who plays a key part in the film and he is searching for people that can play basketball players seen at the very start of the movie. So, the film is still moving steadily, I did not get to shoot at the specific time I wanted to shoot but I am sure I can get it sorted either way. Make sure you support Hardest to Survive on the Facebook pages with this link it is http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hardest-to-Survive-Short-Film, and the clips that I have done so far, the first one and the extended clip are both still available on my account http://http//www.youtube.com/user/89kbon.

Follow me on my blog, over this page for those of you who have come to this site for the first time, for twitter its http://www.twitter.com/lildre_cains and I have more news in store for you about the comic later on this week. The website will be released in the afternoon on Thursday 31st March 2011 so make sure you have a look at that. Otherwise check out the story of Nemesis the Hunter's Mark and the pages that have been pencilled by Julio Falkenhagen and inked by myself. The 5 preview pages lettered by Rommel Fabian and coloured by Kieron Boothe, although busy as he is, will be coming soon. You can view all of these pages on this link http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nemesis-the-Hunters-Mark-Comic.

Take care for now,

Ja Ja Soze: "Own Thing" Official video

Hope you had a good time this October, I will like to note that editing of The Hardest to Survive teaser will be shown either next week or during the weekend. My team have already started capturing the clips and we have to render some of them. What I have got to show you, to celebrate Black History Month, I've decided to post a music video on this blog by a well known artist called Ja Ja Soze, a Grime artist from Brixton. He is quite popular around his area, it features me plus the actress, Yasine Burell, who is signed up for playing the role of Shanna in my film. Have a listen and tell me what you think. It has been shot, courtesy of Mathu Ezee. The cover art for issue 8 of the comic Nemesis Dawn of a Legend should be put up this weekend but you can look at the script in my other column below. I had a deal with another graphic designer, his name is Kieron, at the moment, he's busy but he agreed to work on the artwork I am doing also, he is a good colourist I met up yesterday to discuss some new projects coming out next year. There's more to come next week, so I'll let you know what's up very soon like a flash animation trailer for the Nemesis and where's it going to go from there onwards. I got big plans for this 2011, for the rest of '10 it will be great. I will not be posting up that clip until around mid or late November because of work.

Blaze Barnation: "So Gone" video!!

Hey fans,

I'm back from my break and I have stuck to my promise, Mathu Ezee just handed me a link on my wall for you guys. It's a music video by a rapper who goes by the name Brice or Blaze. At one point before filming took place, I wondered if it would of been cool if he did have a catchy name we could say that "Yeah, we know him". I thought of the name "Blaze, I Got Bars!", something alliterate that made the rapper Soulja Boy add "Tell 'Em" to his graff. It sounds kind of good though, but I'll stick with just Blaze for now. The whole shoot took place at night and it was really late, didn't get in till early in the morning, but it was sick. The models were great to be with too and Brice was good to chat with. His lyrics are very addictive plus the whole location fits the picture. It was pretty mad though, man I won't even tell you what happened up there.

He's the sort of person I would like to work alongside with once all my projects are done and out of the way. The holidays have been so quick and already I feel I haven't done much. I go back to college next week, but this doesn't change anything. I will still be uploading heavy videos like this one and continuing the two main projects this September. I'm going to add some more stuff on my blog including new features such as The Site and Bios page. Those pages are being sorted out as we speak, I may add some flash animation and more pictures for the Bios as well. Anyway, I hope you lot had a bless summer time and now is really the time to get to work. I still got more work to do and have got loads in store for you this autumn. You will just have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more exciting stuff this week and the next, it will be something you deserve to get.

See yah

Black Diamond Official video "Problems We Face".

People,

As you know I'm not only a writer, artist and director but I'm also an actor as well. This is added to my list of job roles. I said that I would send you the clip of the music video by Black Diamond, she is an inspirational soul artist and her voice is beautiful. She inspired me not only because of her lyrics but it's because she is relating to things which is current today. This might end up on something very special in the rental store out there. I know you lot out there are guilty enough to go and download something like that for free! Too bad, I can't blame you. The director is my good bredgin, Mathu Ezee and I starred in this cause he was looking for someone who could pass as a drug dealer to play in this video. I gladly agreed. Lucky for him though, the shoot was really tiring and took place in the hot baked sun in the area Elephant and Castle. It's about a young man (me) who is dealing with a junky and he is double crossed and is faced with getting what is his (the drugs and money) or just being with his mother and leaving the hood life behind.

Enjoy

4 Real interview.

Welcome back,

Lil Dre is here with your interview of the spectacular rapper, 4 Real who is really here to speak about how he got involved in the process with the film, The Hardest to Survive, coming out this summer. As you already know, 4 Real is one of a few artists who is doing the soundtrack for my short film. If you've seen the video I posted in here the other day you also know Tactics will be part of it as well and that 4 Real is focusing on a mixtape. I aplogise for the mistake on the video "Get the party started" is not the name of the mixtape but is one of his tracks, so I'm sorry about that. I'm not sure when and where it will be released, but as I'm close in touch with him I may reveal that at a later date. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this video and stay tuned for more updates by the start of next month. May I remind you all that Nemesis Dawn of a Legend#3 is due 02/07/10 and will be close towards the end of the first story arc of the series, which is called "The Forthcoming" followed by issue 4 a week later. I will release some cover art for that as well. Look out for that and tell me what you think of it. The interview is down below.

Guest artist 4 Real!!

Hey people,

I just came from a meeting for my film that's coming out this summer and I just want you to let you in on the news that's made it here. 4 Real, an up and coming artist has confirmed doing some of the soundtrack for the film. I just shot a video of him tonight and he said he will get some tracks out for it. I've been busy sorting out the editing for the interview and trust me, it's not something you can do quick work on.

4 Real has a mixtape he is working on, there's no word on the title, but look out for the name of it on the video I will produce next week. I have heard some tracks of his songs he does at the studio and I'm telling you, it's really good. Anyway, I will let you know about the link to the other blog that I told you about. I will post it on the 14th June. Not only 4 Real is doing the soundtrack but another rapper who calls himself Tactics as well. I will post a video of the interview that I did with 4 Real sometime next week and maybe Tactics as well. I'll try get him on it as well.

Laters,
